It's good for real life gaming because crits and missing cause funny social group reactions and allow for improve acting, but in a video game making it so that attacks constantly missing or spells constantly not working as a core foundation of how the game works is really fucking lame and annoying pic related is another RPG with awful gameplay for the same reason. Western RPG makers really love making miss based gameplay for some reason
