I can already tell you the worst part of Larian's next Divinity game: The town/city.

What was the worst part of Original Sin 1?
Running back and forth across town talking to retarded NPCs.

What was the worst part of Original Sin 2?
Running back and forth across town talking to retarded NPCs.

What was the worst part of Baldur's Gate 3?
The entire third act, which is composed entirely of running back and forth across the city talking to retarded NPCs.

Larian, without fail, always includes a shitty section where you just have to walk back and forth in a boring little town or city with virtually zero combat in it, just clicking through dialogue trees. And they're gonna do it again. And it's gonna be the worst part of the next Divinity game.

I like tactics game. It's not my fault nobody has the balls to make a new Final Fantasy Tactics. I'm just pissed that every decent tactics game of the past 10 or so years has come with a boring RPG attached. Usually with high school level writing.

the part that i didn't like in DOS cities is refreshing shops
and optimizing equipments in general, once i decided to only equip what i loot, much more fun

That's not really just a Larian thing. Lots of RPGs have sections where you just run back and forth around a large area talking to NPCs and they always suck. When you first get to the citadel in Mass Effect 1 for example.

Literally every RPG with a major city or settlement has this issue. As soon as you get to the capital of the game's open world you usually then spend a while just running around, finding all the shops, talking to every NPC to get every quest, doing all of the quests that are within the city walls, etc.
If you play, for example, Oblivion once you get to the Imperial City you can genuinely spend a few hours in there just exploring, sneaking, asking about rumors, bribing NPCs, looking for vendors, etc.

For me, having a large city with people to talk to and quests to do is quite fun

The problem with Act 3 of BG3 isn't that you're just running around talking to NPCs, it's that you can feel every other story arc awkwardly straining to finally reach finish line as they start to run out of steam. So they're either a list of sudden fantastical horror bosses all living within two blocks of each other dumped on you all at once, or they're a climax to a random character's side-quest set up two Acts ago that just reaches a sudden and abrupt anti-climax.

I liked the underwater prison break though, I thought that was neat.

>I like boring shit
>>
>>730919408
I agree here. It's a lack of structure that makes Act 3 shit. They just slapped set pieces into the area. Everything is extremely interconnected in Act 1 while not seeming so. Everything is interconnected in Act 2 and it's very overt. Everything is very disjointed by Act 3.
>>
>>730915883
>What was the worst part of Original Sin 2?
Running around the map looking for enemies of appropriate level because exp curve and leveling in this game is pants on head retarded.
>>
>>730919408
>a list of sudden fantastical horror bosses all living within two blocks of each other
Ah, just like Athkatla in BG2.
>>
>>730915883
yes, act 3 was the worst part of bg3, but because it was a performance issue on even the latest and greatest hardware, not because the city sucks. the city was excellent.
>>
>>730919070
The problem, imo, is that they're not paced in most cases. You spend hours going back and forth in the city instead of getting periodic quests to leave the city.
I mean, fuck, I'm playing DOS1 at the moment and 6 hours in I'm only just now leaving the first town and the guards even told me to wait even longer before I do so, and I've exhausted everything I can do in the town because of the shitty rock-paper-scissors verbal combat bullshit. You catch someone in a lie and try to press them to come clean and they just rock-paper-scissors you and now you have to spend hours digging through every nook and cranny looking for hints on how to bypass them, if it's even possible.

>>730919230
It's a selling point when done right. I like how Elder Scrolls games do them, where you have maybe 1 or 2 quests in town, but the vast majority of them either lead you outside of the city, or start outside of the city and lead you into the city. You end up flowing between dungeons and outdoor areas and the cities and towns. Larian just tends to have you show up to a town and get slammed with 13 fucking quests in a row that all take place in town.

>FFT is boring
>Tactics Ogre is boring
>Fire Emblem is boring
If you're shit, just say so and go back to grinding so you can overlevel everything.
>>
>>730915883
From my experience, everyone I know loves those first 2 areas the best. People literally replay Fort Joy over and over again because its fun. I had a blast in Cyseal when I first played Dos1 because I wanted to track down all hidden items and figure out how to max out my XP before I wenture out into the wild.
Larians games fall off a cliff after 1st or the 2nd act. So it seems that you just enjoy combat spam and nothing else.
>>
>>730917247
The fuck? You have actual choices in the game that determine outcomes, you can often avoid combat differently depending on how you choose dialogue. You can make your character and deci- I'm getting trolled

Yes, nobody gives a shit about your weeb tranime games you faggy SEA bug manlet

They're literally all award winning, you brainrotted derangement syndrome nutcase.
Not like your fortnite bullshit or visual novels or walking simulators you love so much. Go farm more lootcrates, gachawhore.
>>
>>730919408
this + the fact that you can basically rush the ending in Act 3, making everything seem superfluous since you can hit the level cap pretty early in the act, and its not like a sandbox RPG where you can keep playing after the credits.
>>
>>730924638
>They're award winning
So are DOS1, DOS2, and BG3? What's your point?
>>
>>730924638

meaningless.

>>730915883
NOT IN THE MOOD FOR CHEESE?
>>
>>730915883
Larian doesn't make good CRPGs, they make good tactics games. All of their games are incredibly linear and railroaded.
>>
>>730915883
Nah the worst part in all of these games is the combat

>What was the worst part of Original Sin 1?
The tenebrium mines.

The release act 4.

Baldurs trash 3
>>
>>730923239
Yes, it's one of the many reasons why BG2 was trash compared to BG1.
>>
>>730927371
>Larian doesn't make good CRPGs
they make the only kind of crpg that i like. anyways non-linear story based games don't really exist.

>>730918619
It's just a horse. The "horn" is just the hair sticking down from the blood dripping from it.

lol no
it's gonna be the same thing as it always is
about half way through the game it overstays it's welcome and becomes a chore to play
it always happens
it's a larian thing
>>
I still can't believe they refuse to put WASD movement in exploration mode for this game. Dragon Age Origins solved this decades ago.
