(Even through the game has heavy layered plate armor fighting where a bludgeon or even a spear would be far more useful than a sword)

A real "I till the soil and hammer out my bronze tools to prepare for the winter on my homestead" simulator.Vintage Story is bascially Terraria in 3D with the focus on combat that entails.Its apples to oranges at this point.

>>730928182Played Vintage Story for the first time recently. The first 100 hours were great. Exactly what I wanted from a survival focused minecraft.Then I decided to do the story content, and boy what a frustrating mess. The content itself is alright, but the survival mechanics just get in the way of enjoying any of it. The long distances, hunger and food management being very punishing in long dungeons, not being able to place down items in story areas, being unable to use a shield because you need to use a lamp in the dark dungeons, and all the awful things related to how the mount works.My experience with a game has never crashed as hard as with VS. Thankfully I think most of the issues I can fix with game world adjustments and mods whenever I decide to go back to it.
