it was the first time over 20 years that a DW game passed a million sales in it's release month, the last title to do that was DW4. It was a big deal for the franchise, quite literally saved it. The devs said post launch that if it hadn't sold well, the series was over.

Im cautious, but I think some fears are way overblown. the graphic style, costumes and cutscenes are all keeping to DW3, and the movesets are the same.

The only real difference is the increased troop count and what they said about the AI, but we haven't seen enough to judge how that will really feel in actual gameplay. My concern is related to the battle simulation, for example in DW3 you can get a morale increase for 50 KOs, but with so many more troops in DW3:R, logically that would have to be increased to maybe 100 KOs, and other sim elements would all have to be adjusted in this way if the game is to keep the balance of the original.

The question is, will they actually do that? Or will they simplify the battle sim elements like in 7/8/9/? That's my concern, but we have zero info it so i'm not gonna doom over it and shall just wait for the demo to see for myself.
