>>730934938>Muse DashSo Taiko no Tatsujin
>>730935093In a senseTaiko's display makes things difficult for me though since it's all on one track. Much easier to register when there's one for both inputs
>>730934710Play YARG, its better than the other 4!
>>730934710Any variant of Taiko or Stepmania is good to me
>>730934710PDMM+& osu
>>730936248i'd rather just play fortnite
>Buy Rhythm Festival>Immediately afterwards find out that you can get charts of every official song extremely easily and play them with a simFuck Namco and their subscription scam bullshitSell the DLC at a reasonable price challenge impossible

>>730934710>Stepmania and OSU are the same flavor of hyperautism no sense of rhythm dopamine high chasing bullshit>would rather see a Rock Band revival than play Clone HeroTaiko no Tatsujin gameplay is really fun only you own a drum that doesn't die after a couple of sessions, but in my opinion, the series' soundtrack is very boring which kills my interest in the games.

The only rhythm games I actually enjoy playing are the ones that rely on rhythm and sound cues and aren't just reacting to gamified sheet music flying from the edge of the screen
>>730941039fail right?
I play project diva on my arcade stick and I have zero idea how to double tap a single button for eighth notesI have to map the top row of the 8 buttons on my stick as extra buttons to do these but then I can't do the hold notesit's been fucking years and I can't figure out a solution
>>730941317>I have to map the top row of the 8 buttons on my stick as extra buttons to do these but then I can't do the hold notescan't you just hold the button like you would on the actual arcade cabi know everyone uses macros but like you don't actually have to
>>730941542I meant the arrow notes or whatever. I have it set up liketriangle square x circle triangle square x circleas buttons so I can do rapid notes but then I have no actual arrow buttons. it's a dumb problem I know but nobody else plays this fucking game
>>730940451Did you like lucient soiree in ez2on?
>>730940879To be fair, the last games I played were the 3DS ones and the music never clicked, too many anime themes and both the Touhou and Vocaloid music were the usual generic choices that have been used in every rhythm game since forever. The original music was fine, but nothing that would make me want to go back.If I want Touhou stuff, I already play Danmaku Kagura which has a huge and growing library of classic and new doujin music, and I could say that Proseka exists if I want my fix of Vocaloid, but I don't like that game's gameplay, I seriously despise the swipe notes so I'd rather just wait for new Muse Dash collabs. I also hate the OCs and how much focus the game gives them.
>>730937564>[deleted]??
>>730941689Can't you use the stick for that? Unless you don't have a LS-Dpad switch on there but even then you could change that in software. It'd be like Beatmania where you have to reach for the turntable every once in a while, doesn't seem that bad.
>>730934710>Which way rhythm mangroove coaster.
>>730941950I think I tried using the stick one time but the travel time was so bad I gave up after a day. But then again I was extra retarded using my stick and I've gotten way better using it, I'll give it another go. Never played beatmania but sounds similar dexterity wise
>>730934710beatmania, nigger
>>730942164>Steam version pretty much abandoned>Switch version has expensive DLC up the ass
>>730934710Rhythm tengoku
>>730934710stepmania, but I've been playing Spin Rhythm XD a lot lately
>>730942415Just play groove coaster in djmax and ez2on lel
>>730942415Wai Wai Party has sales with 10 songs for 11 bucks and Future Performers sells dlc at a buck a song so it's really not that bad imo.The music selection is also right up my alley so there is not better rythm game for me.
>>730942415>arcade is eos
>>730942750Yeah, still a bit too expensive, but maybe I should put some money aside and give it a try because I do agree that the soundtrack looks really good.
I've been playing rift of the necrodancer. It's fun but I'm not used to moving that fast on arrow keys for a sustained amount of time so lactic acid builds up pretty fast on impossible. I've thought about making charts for it on a few occasions but go into the track maker and don't even know where to start.

osu is the definition of soulless
>>730943451not a rhythm game
>>730943581Because of how much history it has it does kind of have some residual soul from existing in that earlier internet age but most people consciously strip it to "optimize" their gameplay
>>730943101The amount of songs available in FP right now is a bit lacking but the visual are very good.https://youtu.be/NkmF0_PWvx0?list=RDNkmF0_PWvx0&t=67

>>730941274While this is true, training with only 4B can make it even harder to go up to 6B. I would personally advocate for starting on Low Diff 6B tracks and get used to that. You can always drop the diff and increase it just as "easily" with 6B.
>>730949881I will if they release it for switch 2.
>>730949454I've never participated in vtuber shit, or idolshit as a whole for that matter, but the hololive dlc is what made me buy the necrodancer game. Especially the second one.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vV6l2zmOC50
>>730949454Hololive has some really good songs which is why I was excited to learn that they were getting their own rhythm game, only to be revealed that it was going to be a Proseka clone.
>>730950109The thing is so unoptimized it would choke a Switch to death. Just get it for cheap on PC.
I do like Project Diva as the more traditional rhythm game with a set list. But I prefer the genre of "rhythm games with the story justification that it's a rhythm game (no matter how silly)". It's kinda like the difference between a concert and a musical. So Space Channel 5, Gitaroo Man, Elite Beat Agents, Mad Rat Dead, etc.
>>730934710Quaver
Is Taiko any good?
>>730953056it's the retard's rhythm game of choice (this is actually a good thing)
Taiko looks really fun but there doesn't seem like a good way to actually play it.Keyboard is soulless. The 70 dollar controllers are garbage that you have to mod and will still be garbageThe actual arcade drum face replicas look great but cost like 600 bucks.
please play clone heroit has free online and supports basically every instrumentplease
>>730953630Does it have Rock Band-like microphone? If not, go away.
>>730934710SDVX and ADOFAI for me. I'm too pleb for IIDX. Odd numbers of lanes messes with my head.
>>730950109Does the switch's dpad even have seperated input?
>>730940954Cool, now try posting a rhythm game series that isn’t completely dead in the water
>>730955547Wasn't Patapon recently re-released on Switch and PC? And had a spiritual successor prior to that?
IIDX GOOOOOOLDMAKE IT MAKE IT MONEY
>>730955628>spiritual successorThat garbage that shall not be named has nothing to do with Patapon
>Playing vanilla SM5 instead of Project Outfox, ITGMania or even just downgrading to 3.9 since it still works just fine on modern systems and has the best themes
>>730953630I don't have a controller and 'strumming' on a keyboard fucking sucks.
>>730953630I do but I'm guessing I gotta download a terabyte of songs if I wanna touch online don't I
>>730953630Just give me a new Guitar Hero already.
>>730934710Is Unnamed Sound Voltex clone a good alternative to actual SDVX?
>>730957202It's slightly easier due to the higher framerate, though that's a benefit in my opinion. You mostly just miss out on all the visual flair SDVX has. Id say that of you have the ability to play SDVX, give it a go for the experience. But generally Unnamed is just more convenient. Not to mention you don't have to rotate your monitor to play it.
>>730957626I should also add that not all the tracks have been converted perfectly in the packs and you'll encounter a very small handful of broken ones.
>>730953630I tried playing online and matched up with some turbo autist playing taps on a keyboard at hyper speed and went AFK when I chose the song.
StepmaniaI play all those old traxx by that rapist tranny renard
>>730957740Which version of original SDVX is the best?
>>730957902May as well just always just stick to the latest for song selection and online support. Though III is aestheticly my favourite.
>>730958097Alright thanks

>>730953630>guitar hero gameplayNo thanks.
>>730958715This game is only "almost" good. The music is fantastic and the notes feel satisfying to press but the charts are all so miserably amateur.
Waiting patiently for Rhythm Heaven GrooveI'm glad Tsunku is ok
>>730959247I agree, it's another classic case of "Normal is too easy and Hard is too Hard", except that Hard is most of the time easy and sometimes very hard, while Lunatic can get pants on head retarded. The gacha used to have better charts and an Extra difficulty between Hard and Lunatic which this game is really missing, and unfortunately 4key mode doesn't really fix the issue. It's a shame because I adore the song selection. Idoratrize World is such an amazing song but the jump between Hard to Lunatic is 11 fucking levels
>>730956647>New GHActivision will never do it again after the disaster of GH Live and how incompetent Microsoft isThe closest thing you have now is Fortnite Festival, since Harmonix was bought by Epic Games

Is there anything like a TapTap Revenge clone for mobile devices? I have fond memories playing it on my iPod Touch on the bus in high school.
What's the line between fun and autism? Because I like it when it's fun but I just look at something like Touhou Danmaku Kagura and there's so many keystrokes you can't even hear the song, what's the point?
>>730962835paid rhythm games will mostly lean into fun because they need to cater to a wide range of player skills, it's the community driven stuff that goes far into the autism side.
I came across the tatsujin of the taiko series while downloading games for my modded 3dsThey're cool and fun I've been playing them for a couple of days now, but the barrier between 9* oni and 10* oni is very powerful...!!!I'd like to try playing the game with a drum controller but I can't figure out which one is actually good
>>730963095The best controller is the arcade one.
>>730963095the hori controller is assyuancon makes an arcade-sized one that is good but the shipping is pretty painful. there are a few midrange drums now that are supposed to be decent.
>>730936934no you wouldn't you fucking baiting retard
>>730963726The aesthetic of this new version is bizarre. They're dressed like strange slutty ski resort patrol medics which clashes against the neon lime green they went with for the primary color. Grace's comically huge swiss army knife chainsaw is also a confusing accessory. That said the Rasis tummy is divine
>>730940170the updates killed the game. its so slow and bloated now. only gacha fags and season pass goons like it.
>>730962835DanKagu in Hard is really fun, it's most of the Lunatic charts that are pretty bad with some very few exceptions. I love Harvest, but the Lunatic chart even if it's on the lower levels is still filled to the brim with triples and doubles and it really pisses me off, same with Love East. Also, if you're hearing mostly keystrokes, lower the volume of the sound effects, Muse Dash is particularly bad in that regard so I always keep them very low to actually enjoy the music.I would say the line is crossed once you realize that most of the button presses you're doing start filling gaps in the music just for the sake of difficulty, so pretty much high level Stepmania/OSU autism.
>>730964415>HarvestGood example of a terrible chart. I couldn't even play it on my laptop because the game wouldn't recognize 5 simultaneous buttons presses.I can clear up to 28 on Lunatic and I can confidently say not even practice will help you get a FC at that level.
>>730962835>What's the line between fun and autism?>FunAll content you can jump in and play naturally>AutismAnything hard enough that it requires dedicated practice The line is drawn differently for each player and everybody has a different tolerance for the autism required to become good
when i play very demanding charts my breathing stops working properly and it feels like im about to fainthow do you make that not happenim consciously breathing but its not really directing the air to the proper place
>>730964726you don'tfor me my heart goes wild and i can't pump blood automatically
>>730934710Rocksmith but with bass guitar.I thought about getting taiko with those expensive controllers but maybe not anytime soon.
>>730934710Oh boy i remember used to make charts for SM4 and posted it online.
I've gotten pretty hooked on playing DDR World at Round 1
>>730964726It's really fucking stupid but rhythm games are an incredibly high stress environment. Your heart starts pounding, you start sweating, your breathing can get erratic. All because you want to squeeze out 1% higher on your score. You just have to roll with the punches.
I've been playing guitar hero 2 deluxe on pcsx2 and bettergh3 the last couple weeks. I actually have gh2 open right at this moment
>>730936248I'll probably give it a shot soon, but I'm not a big fan of the rock band visual style

>>730965519lol no, just deal with it
Can't you just get an electronic snare drum and play taiko with that?I'm pretty sure they differentiate between where you're hitting them too

>>730963095TDC10 and IINE Pro Max are the only options in a reasonable pricepointThe Hori drum is fucking unusable unless modded and then the price is pretty close to those other ones
>>730968140Is it too sensitive?
>>730968485You can change the sensitivity in the app
>>730964726rhythm games are the best adrenaline pumpers
>>7309435812008-2013 osu was the best western gateway into japanese subculturesthen it turned into metawanking faggotry
>>730966356I literally play at home with a regular rubber snare practise pad. It's technically not interactive but the "gameplay" is identical, you can just bash a drum and have the exact same experience as arcade. The only difference is score recording, so if you're a fag who needs to be told you're doing good to feel good then too bad, but you should be able to feel yourself get better and start to push harder tracks, and that should be satisfying on it's own, no need for a machine to tell you to feel satisfied.
