It's honestly pretty similar but more grounded in reality, gotta keep an eye on fuel and latitude etc but it's still very arcadey and has star fox all range mode-like dogfighting

If your only frame of reference for flight games is Star Fox, you're a bit fucked.
Think of it this way. It's always All Range Mode, most attacks are lock-based where getting the right angle matters most, and you have to roll and pull up to turn.
