>you're
>>730937292What did he mean by this?
and that's a good thing
I'm usually big in gsgs but I can't get into this one.Blobbing on earth is meh and the space part is uncooked
The UI is fucking terrible and half of the tech tree is fucking useless.10/10, very happy with the 140 hours I spent on it and I will never touch it again
And the optimization is dogshit. Forgot that part.
Steam is always shilling me this. Anti-shill me on it.
>>730938967You want to play a Map Staring game but you think Paradox games are too exciting for you
>>730938967I needed to google spreadsheets to find out which ship components to research because the options in the tech tree are all clumsily tied together, poorly indicated (sometimes not indicated at all), there's a lot of false ends in the tech tree that lead to shit, and, assuming you are not reloading saves when you lose battles, investing in the wrong options could mean having to spend 6 hours rebuilding.
>>730937259I like the idea of having a bunch of shadow organizations trying to pull their weight and do their own objectives, but I feel they could have cut a few out because they are just such cucks. Like, holy shit. Servants I get, right? But if you're so fucking retarded you think you can bargain with the ayy lmaos into going easy on you and selling people to try and be safe, I don't know what to say. The run away faction are cucks too. The rest all at least fulfill their role, but I don't know why some factions don't just dissolve if you're doing extremely well on, idk, the resistance or humanity first? Like imagine you're beating the ayy lmaos back and , and the protectorate are STILL trying to stop you.
>>730940276The Protectorate is the realistic faction. If a real alien invasion happened, they'd be our best bet, unironically. With that said, yeah, in a game where we can manufacture war ships that fuck the alien's shit up within a decade, and we can also keep the aliens at bay that entire time somehow, the Protectorate doesn't make much sense, and they should absolutely just be allowed to dissolve and merge into other factions when it becomes clear their methods aren't needed.
The factions are all good at the start, some of them become a bit sillier later on but you can just handwave it away as people being too set in their ways and having spent too much time and resources on their way to give up now. Like console wars between billionaires.
>>730940479Yeah, they do that well, and I guess that's enough to have them exist as a faction. But yeah.... If you're doing well with anti alien faction to the point you have a really good shot at doing it, I makes almost no sense why they still are going.. Even the academy would work here though.>>730940601You can argue the Protectorate think the aliens still may not be worth pissing off, and that being losers who submit will still "ensure" who they're safe above all. It's a bit silly, yeah. Sunk cost I get can behind too.
>Manage to strand 8 alien armies in Madagascar>Send all my armies at once there>Have to quickly pull out, even though I outnumber them 5 to 1 and have all the military upgrades imaginable>Nuke Madagascar>Only takes out 15% off their health>Have to nuke Madagascar 5 times>0% popularity across the entire planetI'm never letting assault carriers set up on Earth never again, good god
>>730939459lol its funny cause its true
Why does /gsg/ not care about this?
>>730942112I thought /gsg/ was for Paradox games
>>730942336game is too deep for them
>>730942112It's a puzzle game. The devs spent all of early access just seeing what strategies people used to win, and nerfing them. So now you NEED to research specific techs from a huge (pointless) research tree. Only a few will actually ensure your victory. You researched the wrong ship part? Your save is bricked because you literally cannot beat the game anymore. Time to start over. You didn't know about the alien event that just gives them territory on earth for free and research the one seemingly useless tech that can prevent it? Game over because they will keep getting free territory and you are stupid as fuck for not knowing it would it happen.
>>730943173>The devs spent all of early access just seeing what strategies people used to win, and nerfing them.QRD? Which strategies, in specific?
>you can improve a nation's heckin' democracy score>meanwhile you control everything the nation doesWhat did they mean by this?
>>730937259Why do they all have the same face?
>>730944374That's a good point
>>730937259I'm so angry about this game. It has everything I want and loads of content is actually fun, but between UI, the ridiculous time it takes and the poor balance for your choices it's only barely playable. WHY can't the devs tune it right, everything is there for a great game! Are they retarded on purpose?
>>730943173You forgot when you get bricked after 50 hours of play
>>730944065Its bullshit. They are just paradox shills coming to shit on a game that provides competition for their master
>>730943173they don't get territory for free. it's a councilor action performed by the servants, and they first need a facility in that country which you can scan for and destroy.just don't let the servants fester in any country. you have to fight them yourself because the other AI factions are shit at it.
>>730937259>>730938967Honestly, its a shit game.Early game is a RNG fest scramble for territory.Mid game is teching up, because you aren't going to do shit except shoot down the absolute smallest ship with anything but an endgame deathball.Late game is boring as fuck because you're on a mop-up that takes literal hours because the realistic transit times coupled with the game pausing itself every five seconds to have you redo the early-game actions that have long since stopped mattering unless the AI manages to steal a nation from you.Coupled with >>730937590 and it is a trash game that runs like shit.
>>730941106How about orbital strike from low orbit?
>>730945465Tried and it was working really well until it stopped working at all for some reason. Got one of the armies to 7 HP and then he regened. I was redoing the strikes and everything. Either a bug or some mechanic I didn't understand.
>>730937292holy newfaggola
>>730945241You're right about everything but I still liked it
>>730947962He's wrong about the "RNG fest". The RNG in this game is very well done.
>>730937259Why would you ever play ANYONE other than Humanity First? Everyone else is either woke leftist or turbocucks
>>730948862Even centrist Resistance?
>>730944374It's dystopian fiction. Unlike in the real world where liberal democracies are real democracies, in Terra Invicta the major factions control them subtly through banking and media and control of the elite.
>>730948862I chose The Resistance because I think they have their priorities in the right place. The focus should be on trying to get the aliens to fuck off as soon as possible and not worry too much about the turncoat side of things until after the aliens have been safely blockaded off.Having said that, Humanity First are my best bros in the game.I think for my second playthrough I'll do The Servants and then not play anymore because the game is too grindy to play for too many times. But if I played more, I'd probably want to play as The Protectorate and The Initiative before I went for Humanity First.
>>730949035Right, but his point, which is accurate, is that pic related doesn't mesh up with how you control these governments from the shadows. What is this stat actually tracking? Because it's certainly not democracy.
By the way, let it be known that I got your joke.
>>730949130I'd probably replace it with "state effectiveness" or something like that. The real world CCP probably has a proper term for it since they're the only ones in the world who actually run their country according to realpolitik.
>>730949014>>730949054It's ruled by black woman, retards. A black "British" woman at that.
>>730949625Actually, it's ruled by me since I picked it. She's just my advisor.
>>730937259They tried to do the Alpha Centauri thing but failed. I think only the Humanity first guy kind of hits, but the others are not at all memorable, and especially the Resistance woman is simply awful
I think most people that rated this game highly did not finish it once.
>>730950001It's a vibes game and That's Okay
>>730950001You dont need to finish a game to enjoy it or rate it well. I have ~70 hours in Terra Invicta, still havent finished my first save, and thats ok. Its a great game.
>>730950001Most people who play and enjoy gsg games don't finish games. I liked Stellaris up until i forced myself to bring a game to completion and it was the most disappointing end in a video game of all time. I've never seen a more flaccid victory screen in my life.
>Tibet and Xinjiang are considered colonies>Alaska and Hawaii aren'tI'm so tired of westoid propaganda
>>730950904The end is an absolute MMO tier chore grind, surely that should be reflected in the game's rating.
>>730951178It's literally true though. BRICS brownoids can do nothing but seethe over western superiority.
>>730951289>Russia>Brown
>>730951471On a scale of 1 to 10 how mad are you that the USSR lost?
>>730951537Don't care, I'm not a westoid
>>730950904Just wait until your game becomes a loading and lagging simulator
My problem with it is that they actually made a pretty decent space battle system but it just takes way too long to have it happen, and I don't mean getting to it, I mean just straight up building your fleets and sending them off. Even when you have everything maxed out, it's at least half an hour to send a fleet out to fight aliens. So failure is just too punishing and time consuming.
Climate hoax propaganda
>>730944065No one ever elaborates on this
>>730953127because its fake news. There is a dedicated shill campaign against Terra Invicta.
>>730952963Oh fuck off
>>730951178Does your leader know you're posting here?
>>730937259Weren't they going to add a 2070 or something start where you just skip the entire early game?
>>730941106Nuke actually being shit is pretty realistic.
