>OoT itself
Literally the greatest game of all time.
Engaging, atmospheric, quite chill yet magical grand adventure, that will stick with you for the rest of your life.

>3DS version
The worst version of OoT by far.
I'd recommend the N64's NTSC v1.0 over it.
You can play it through the PC recomp if you want higher res and/or framerate.

99% of the art direction is lost in the 3ds version

I just bought an N64 with Mystical Ninja Goemon and Shadow Man. Haven't played any N64 games besides Mario 64 DS, should I make it a point to grab OoT after I beat those two?

3DS version is superior. Lighting looks objectively worse in like 2 areas, but everything else is vastly improved. Don’t listen to this anon.

He's not playing BotW.

Honestly it’s an extremely well made game. They might remaster it for the switch 2 soon. The 3DS version is pretty good too if the graphics seem outdated.

3DS port is sort of a portable "remaster", with lots of silly censorship, lots of EXTRA handholding - because zoomers absolutely needed more tutoring in a game almost notorious for its vocal in-game Navigator buddy. The art style is totally butchered, with everything in 3DS being extra pastel-y, softened, and generally lacking the more natural, earth-toned, sometimes outright a bit dark vibes the classic OoT had. The animations also seem floaty, as if they'd be running at wrong framerate.

The OoT3D ain't a total disaster, but you absolutely have WAY better options available.
