How did Square fumble this series?
NT happened.Wanted to ape Gundam's niche and become an esport and for what's worth did reasonably well in Japanese arcades. But they made a home console port with godawful netcode in a game built entirely around 3v3s where each character feels like a heavily gimped version of their PSP selves, ergo it really wasn't fun to play
They made a multiplayer game so terrible nobody would want to play it for more than an hour. If I'm not mistaken, you were required to play multiplayer to progress in the single player. $60 btw
I try to figure out how to fix NT, and honestly 3v3 and 2v2 could work if it was like Marvel Vs Capcom. 1v1 tag team. But idk, it is what it is...
>Hey Nomura, you produced another hit game, let's take it away from you and have our board decide how to maximize profits and- oh well that didn't work and the series is dead, must be Nomura's fault, back to making FF7 and KH sequels on Unreal Engine!
>>730947016Never played NT. Were the mechanics really that bad? I mean, couldn't you just make it 1v1 like 012 and with a better campaign and it would be better?
