You can change their strategies so they attack more or defend more or heal you more but it's left up to the ai. Remake allows you to control them but imo loses some of the charm and atmosphere of FES.Also we say FES because it added in a big epilogue called The Answer. Remake has this too but it's paid DLC. Either is fine I guess.
