Like, Don't Dig Up starts you deep underground with reverse progression, while Don't Starve Seed makes you take damage in the dark and requires getting food items, which sounds like a shitty combo that will just be annoying, right? Well if you try to mix them you get a Vampire Seed, that takes the essence of both challenges but makes them actually work together.You start underground, but instead of taking damage in the dark you take damage in the sun, and instead of needing food you need to suck blood from NPCs/enemies. They teased a lot of specific mechanics like being able to block out sun damage with an Umbrella or hats, and implied some way to become a "Daywalker" as well. There's multiple vampire character skins/sets and the bat transformation looks sick and seems obviously like it's part of the Vampire Seed. The devs did dedicated "Vampire Seed" runs, they shared this screencap while saying it was right after they killed Moonlord. Not every combo will be that interesting, but a lot of them are bound to be cool.

They confirmed Get Fixed Boi is what you get if you mix every 1.4.4 seed at once in 1.4.5, and it has changes like having a huge layer dedicated just to Bees to rep the Bee seed, which Don't Dig Up doesn't have. So it's reasonable to think they do that sort of mixing overall, meaning any combo of Don't Dig Up + Bee Seed gives you that Bee layer now.Evil biome is probably underground in the Vampire Seed, just like the surface is represented by an underground level in the regular Don't Dig Up seed. Think with the next update I'll go range. Journey mode make the arrows/bullets crafting far less painful though of course I play with homebrew rules of no cheat features aside from research. I need a change of pace. There used to be a mod that let you play multiple characters at once and give them basic AI to follow and attack automatically. They've talked a few times about how they had to do a lot of changes to make it actually fun as a playthrough experience, because they admitted that normal Skyblock in most games is more of a little gimmick and not a real way to play the game for average players. They've put a lot of time into adding new mechanics to ensure it's actually viable and fun, like when you reach the point in progression where you need meteorite, there is a physical meteor shower event you can see in this image. Pic related is one of the dev test worlds, you can get a sense of scale of an island from the minimap. There's still "world sizes" so no clue if that might be Large to accommodate so many players. The seed mixing will mean there's going to be plenty of customization too, like I can imagine the bee seed has you start on a beehive island that will warp the early game a lot, and a drunk bee celebration skyblock is probably a clusterfuck.

Am I insane to think that the 1.4:4 stack size changes made the game worse since it removes 90% of inventory management since you can carry basically a playthrough time amount of ammo or healing potions instead of balancing them out with free slots or other stuff

There wasn't even basic shit like biome torches yet, there wasn't a hundred updates full of new items, ect. the stacks just save you from having to restock as often at your chest for certain items like potions, and the vast majority of the time the old max stack was more than you'd actually need for 1 trip of anything. The exceptions are things like torches where you might want to bring a ton, or basic block types that accumulate in your inventory until you literally throw some away. I don't need 3 inventory spaces full of basic stone, and it doesn't kill the game to let me carry the whole amount I dig up in 1 stack.Let's also be honest that a true player that wants a hardcore experience is at least playing in a way where you drop all items on death. That makes huge stacks a liability you actually don't want to carry around. You only get risk free stacks if you're playing using easy difficulties.

They're simplifying a lot of the early game noobtraps, like NPCs will spawn even if you haven't built them houses, and they have a dialogue option where they will tell you how to build houses for them. Once you're past the early learning bits, you'll be carried by the fact that the guide + crafting UI is leagues better than it is currently. There's a search bar and tabs, which means if you just hand something to the guide it'll be very easy to figure out what you're capable of doing with that item.
