Most of Fate is essentially the Living fighting for control over their own destinies, and the wisest servants have to even deliberately avoid dominating their masters/the organizations they work for/etc. because they understand the limitations of becoming overly reliant on heroes and how it would lead to a downward spiral for humanity.What makes Fate interesting is that most stories just follow the zero-becoming-a-hero, and would end with "You're a hero, congrats, goal accomplished!" Fate, on the other hand, presents the greatest heroes in all of history, and says "These were failures. We still have to strive to be better."
