Reverie. I like the super refined gameplay, the massive roster and the fun win quotes for themed teams, the story about bringing closure to Rean's arc and finally putting the Crossbell plot to bed. Very satisfying game all around.

I like a ton of the cast. Estelle, Rean, Crow, Rufus, Fie and Sara are among my favs.
From the Daybreak arc I like Judith and Bergard the most out of the ASO crew, and the Oathbreaker is the best Calvard villain.

But yeah Reverie did allow for huge level discrepancies due to the nature of the game. Did you seriously have everyone dead even by the end? If you bench someone for five minutes they'll be 20 levels behind.

Most of these characters are redundant. That's the problem with the series post-Azure. Picking a party is largely just flavor. Imagine if they spent these resources on actually fleshing out a party of at most 7 and gave them more unique crafts and mechanical depth.

Already completed the game. Very mixed on the ending it's no wonder the japs receptions were mixed too. The bloated casts is fine because they mitigate it with routes. Overall is a good typical trails game. I would be surprised if Falcom actually do something very unique someday.

Azure is still the best Trails game and Vesperia is still the best Tales game.

On the topic of Azure in particular, the pacing and the tension of the story keeps rising throughout the entire game. It's consistently got shit happening. There is really something special about a small main party cast, some good ass turn based gameplay (with a fun quartz system too), and constantly escalating events. Azure fucking rules and anybody who didn't at least enjoy it while playing through the games definitely hates video games in general.
