>the fixed the PC version lighting enginecool
Prove it
>>730987707They relisted it for sale on steam for 1
I never could take splinter cell serious because of the stealthy assassins with lights attached to their head.
>>730987679Was Splinter Cell good before Chaos Theory?
>>730988039For a bit, Activision, right?, they also sold "night vision glasses" as a gimmick, that simply just used IR, LEDs, all that.Like surveillance cameras do today.
When are those frog bastards going to release the original Xbox version of Double Agent for PC
>>730988557I would buy that shit in a heartbeat if it really is "more Chaos Theory"
>>730988557>>730988607just emulate it
>>730988039you don't have to take it serious, just play it because it's fun.
>>730988047Extremely linear and trial-and-error-y, but they're decent Stealth games, yeah.
>>730987679>>730987915Doesn't matter because the ,,fixed'' Steam release is locked behind uplay when Splinter Cell and Chaos Theory don't
>>730988765>you don't have to take it serious, just play it because it's fun.I can understand that.To a large degree at least.
>>730988047chaos theory is the only must play>but blackli-no.
i played this early last year before the update and don't recall any lighting issues. maybe some of the community fixes addressed that
>>730987679These games were always superior to MG and it's a damn shame that they're this obscure.
>>730991692the first two splinter cell games suck. they are trial and error bullshit and enemies randomly find bodies even if you put effort into hiding them. Now Chaos Theory specifically is a better stealth game than MGS. Thief is good to. SC and PT don't belong in the same conversation with those games
>>730992329>enemies randomly find bodies even if you put effort into hiding them. They don't, you're just bad
>>730988039lorewise they don't actually glow, it's just a creative liberty so that players can see Sam when playing
can I play with controller on PC?that mousewheel thing sucks.
>>730987679Whens a true successor for the OG Splinter Cells 1-2PD-3CT-DAv2 coming out? why won't the triple A or indie scene make anything? god damn it. Havng to settle for that korean game Mudang Two Hearts is still too much of a blow to my self esteem as being ultra harsh towards Blacklist. My preferences are slower methodically paced stealth like all of the originals provide. Why does no one care? i understand triple A not caring being trend chasing money whores. But why didn't the indie scene pick up the slack either? they've barely even tried to revive it. I might as well go play all of the shit early 2000s shit shovelware and it will outweigh the significance of the entire indie developer scene. But i still lack games to play. I don't really respect those who cater to ADHD pacing for stealth in general.
Any of you guys play those poor mans Splinter Cell's back in the day? i recently gave them a shot because I've played all the OG games so many times. I mean it was scored fairly accurate at its time and hence their obscurity. But if you're like me and have nothing to play they're a mildly entertaining distraction. Cold War and there's another one released in the same year of 2005.
I mean this one is even less closer and is probably somewhere closer to a jankier MGS in some ways. Chameleon
>>730998097Actually no wait it would be right to call it SC-like because it uses a shadow intensity meter. But it doesn't do anything special with dynamic lights though. So the shadow intensity meter is not as fine tuned as SC if that makes sense. But Thief never did Dynamic lights either. But it also doesn't feel as smooth as Thief's light gem and it doesn't always seem as obvious when you're exposed. Not to mention it's actual guard AI is sub par to average at best.
>>730988047>gives you loads of options for going loud>harshly penalises you for itMGS does this too and I hate it. Hitman: Blood Money at least had newspaper articles talking about how much of sick cunt you are.
>>730988039They don't glow. They exist purely so the player can see where the fuck Sam is.
