I remember FF Tactics was rumored to have a remake and that turned out to be more like a remaster. Maybe that's the case with FFIX too, like an official Moguri mod upscale. But a full remake seems more likely, I still believe something might get announced. Did they air that FFIX cartoon that was announced a while ago?

Played it up to the card game tournament at Treno. It's so FUCKING slow holy shit. Not just the combat, the pacing is abysmal and the story just plods along until it decides its time for things to happen for 2 seconds and then its right back to slow aimless plodding.
Through my FF marathon this was the only FF I played where I was like.... what the fuck? what happened to the last quarter of the game? You get the airship, the world sorta opens up, plot is kicking into high gear then it just fucking ends. I'm surprised nobody online really comments on how much FF9 shits itself right at the last few story beats. The actual ending is pretty sweet (and bitter) but how we got there was just so ass.
