I have a ps5 that's sitting in my closet, waiting for a jailbreak to pop up. I did the same thing with ps4.I'd never buy a "pro" version of a console though, they will by definition never be as popular as the main, so no dev will EVER optimize for it, meaning you're leaving power on the table, which is just a huge fucking waste of everyone's time and money.
