Out of the ones in between, Octopath Traveler 2 is probably the most overrated JRPG I've played, and a /v/ anon recommended it to me, saying it "fixed all of the flaws of the first." Well, the balance was atrocious, difficulty was a joke and combat was braindead, the writing was still bad, and the worst part of it all was that travelers still don't interact in each others' story chapters which was THE problem with the first game. Also the HD2D art style went overboard with the bloom and was very ugly in many places but that's just most HD2D games in general.
