Where did the myth that Master difficulty was easier come from? playing on master difficulty in SOC at east not only makes you more vulnerable, but also makes enemies more spongy, in spite of the myth ive seen constantly that master makes enemies less spongy

this myth seems extremely pervasive, to the point where it is still to this day treated as canon in most communities, it seems

granted, while 90% of it is drooling fucking lol2casul4u? retards from the souls series, they never knew that time_to_aim existed as an actual mechanic in the game, and thus they confirmation bias'd themselves into thinking the slow and methodical gameplay master difficulty forced on everyone was the reason their bullets did magically more damage, thus making the game easier

I simply replied to your rhetoric question with a logical assumption, based on the average STALKAN' conversation /vee/ has had for the past 9 years.
The player and NPCs are practically just as vulnerable, except the AI characters have pathetically low hit-probability % even on Master. However, the whole idea of "OMG I'm playing on TEH HARDCORE MOODO!!" makes people reconsider their approach, play less like Call Of Halo, and go for the head - which early on WILL greatly help when you are equipped with nothing but a cloth around your neck + a rusty pocket pistol with a reach of mere 30 meters, tops.

Everything you said is technically correct, but the IDEA the fanbase lives by is still strong, and has logical roots. And that idea (You) misinterpreted.

The STALKER's master mode myth is so strong, that it directly inspired Metro 2033's Ranger Hardcore mod. Which the REDUX versions removed, to appeal to the consolekids.
