Is Factorio any good? How smart do I have to be to play it?
>>
>>731025142
midwit game, just use main bus, copy some of the ideas people had and you are ready to go
>>
if you actually want to get good, you've got to at least have graduated high school which a lot of retards on /v/ have not.
>>
>>731025142
nothing in this fucking picture makes any goddamn sense and its driving me mad

You don't actually have to be smart to play Factorio. Just persistent

>>731025413
My favorite part is the refinery making lube that's getting pumped into the heat exchanger
>>
how smart? not much
solutions are quite easy, game guides you nicely towards more complicated tasks, ingame tutorial will explain most of mechanics easily, and even if you are terrible and bitters bite your base, you can just reduce or remove them in starting settings
however if you are not good at planing this game will make you feel like Sisyphus pushing boulder uphill, and your reward for finishing one design will be that next time hill gets taller
once you play it for a bit, learn shortcuts, otherwise you might go mad
>>731025250
dont listen to that retard, game is about solving logistical problems, looking up designs online is just robbing yourself out of game
>>
>>731028390
Name three ways in which it's better
>>
>>731025142
the dumber you are the more kino it is, spaghetti is just the soul enjoying itself
>>
>>731029473
People also say using bots for everything on Gleba is kino.
Lmao. That's like saying wearing diapers is chad behavior.
>>
>>731025413
I especially love the long inserter directly next to a chest
>>
>>731025142
A little bit because circuit networks and logistics networks intimidated me. I beat the game once pre space age and have been struggling ti get back into it. I need a primer or something
>>
>>731030385
>circuit networks and logistics networks
never learned them desu and also beaten pre-space age factorio
but many people can't wrap their head around train signals and you can't really beat the game without a functioning train network

There's a demo on steam, just play it and form your own opinion
>>
>>731030832
trains are pretty simple so long as you don't do bidirectional rails
>>
>>731031506
I know but many retards can't grasp them.
Also many quit Factorio when oil processing comes in (blue science), that's why they made it simpler
>>
it's not about being smart or retarded
the appeal is type 2 fun in a sandbox
>>
I always end up just playing it like an idle game. factory is producing 10 potions an hour? thats fine, ill just run the game for 10 hours

The game with space age is like a 200 hour marathon of a million things you need to do.
If factorio doesn't count as hard then you might as well call no game hard.
>>
gleba

Installed it 2 weeks ago and still havent played it. How do I get over being mentally challenged bros
>>

>>
>>731025142
im a retard that flunked out of community college and even i could brute force a victory.
>>
>>731025142
It's good and you don't have to be smart. Just be persistent. If circuits and networks confuse you don't worry about it, you can beat the game just fine without using them, though learning them a bit when you feel like it will help.
>>
>>731035517
That's not good enough for me. I want to grasp them, a least their simple uses until I can do better
>>
>>731035898
Their are excellent in game tutorials, and if you play with the systems a bit you will almost definitely figure them out if you finished high school. I was just letting you know there's not really any filter that would stop you from beating the game even if you're really dumb.
>>
>>731034910
Spending a lot of time doing something /=/ hard. Literally the whole game is just connecting x to y and then to z and then adding j and s and o and m
>>
>>731036168
There are like 5 tutorials that end at rails though?

no wonder you flunked out
>>
i sure felt smart when i got parameterized train stops figured out
>>
>>731036168
I beat the game. I want to beat space age while using all the mechanics offered to me.
I tried making a mainbus but got bored quickly because ai was just following a guide and not generating the ideas within myself.
I hate video guides. I want the kind of 10000 hour level tips that I can chew on and integrate into my thinking
>>
>>731025250
>lol man this puzzle game's so easy all I had to do was put in "GAME solution walkthrough guide" into youtube and follow the instructions and I got through it
>>
This game showed me how unwilling I am to accept my mistakes
I discover I fucked something up or could have done it better and I have an urge to go back and burn hours and hours of progress just to fix it instead of just letting it go and progressing in the game anyway

just like life, I suppose
>>
>>731025142
I'm not so smart. I'm playing My Little Workshop.

>eventually realize that I'm being retarded using the bio-assemblers to make the mashes/jelly instead of just the regular ones
>>
>>731036348
Double checked the ingame name, I meant the "Tips and Tricks" pages specifically, not the tutorial levels. They'll have pages appear as you unlock stuff that will give you good info on how it can be used.

>>731036630
I don't know what to tell you, you'll probably use mainbus less on the other planets. In general good advice would be to pay attention to the output/input numbers to avoid bottle necks and use that information to setup blueprints once you come up with an efficient layout for something.
>I want the kind of 10000 hour level tips that I can chew on and integrate into my thinking
Compartmentalize. Create designs that can be scaled up. If you make something, could you copy paste another one next to it?
>>
>>731036763
For me it's the opposite. Tearing down and remaking old sections of the factory better is too much hassle so I simply deal with the mess I made and graft the fixes onto it
>>
>>731025250
why are midwits like this?
>>
>>731036258
yeah yeah and action games are just press X when enemy does Y
>>
>>731037070
I never used a blueprint either, I should do that
>>
If there's one thing I'm kind of disappointed about with the expansion is that the main benefit of visiting new planets and making a base there is a +50% productivity building on something or unlocking stuff you could only find in Nauvis. I wanted something cooler that would really affect the way I play. I was super against quality the first time I heard of it, but as time goes on I think it's the best thing the DLC introduced.
>>
>>731025142
One of the more popular autism simulators. Nothing deep to it.
>>
>>731037362
Yes, especially if you already have drones unlocked, using blueprints will make your life much easier. Even just starting, using blueprints will help you with planning and staying somewhat organized.
>>
Its really fun the first time you play the main planet. Planets are sort of fun but it gets tedious
>>
>>731025142
It requires a decent amount of thought to properly set up your logistics if you are building from scratch. If you're a midwit like >>731025250 then it is a fairly easy game
>>
>>731025142
You have to be smart enough to pirate it.
>>
>>731025142
Im retarded and I love the game. Im math autistic though so take it with a grain of salt. even worse I play the nintendo switch 2 version. At least I have mouse controls.
