Is really really easy to mod this game. Literally anyone here could add custom items, blocks, furniture and mobs, even if you never worked on anything like that before in a couple of days. Even relatively complicated things are easy to add. Try to think if minecraft came with a creationclub kit and they made very easy to add the basics.World gen and more complicated aspects also are possible, plus they seem to have made the creation of plug-ins so you can add more things even easier. If anything bottlenecks your creative output it would be the artistic skills, because making good models and texture takes time.
