>game still isn't crackedIs it worth $60 ($70 for deluxe edition)? I've been wanting to play it now that I've got an upgraded rig that can handle it at 4k, but I'm also not too eager to shell out for a game I haven't played before.
>>731040669You may not like it but Koreans and Chinese made a pact with Denuvo. Their games can't be cracked, it's crazy.Khazan too, it's not cracked.
>>731040669It's excellent; think about it as an improved Sekiro, if that's even possible. If you had any doubt about Chinese culture dominating the coming century, Wukong will dispel them.
>>731041114>improved SekiroThat's a pretty fucking bold claim, one that I highly doubt is true. I really loved Wuchang and bought the deluxe edition of it, so I *want* to belive it's possible. But I still doubt it.
>>731041365>But I still doubt it.Buy it and you'll see. It sold 10 million copies for a reason.
>>731041365It's not, it's actually just chinky Nioh.>>7310414489.5million of them were chinks buying it for social credit.
at this point, why pay full price, been out almost 3 years. wait for sale
>>731041612Cheapest it's ever been in NA is $47.99 according to SteamDB. 20% isn't bad, but it's still not much. The game not being cracked means they've managed to have total leverage on setting the price of admittance.
>>731040669No one wants to play bugslop that's why.
How are you faggots still held back by denuvo? I swear these are just shills trying to fearmonger and get you to buy the game
>>731040669It's a good game compared to the slop we get these days but it's nothing like Sekiro trust me. Gameplay is very basic though it gets a bit harder towards the end with some bosses but overall it's just an action game like the ones you could get on PS2-PS3. It's not at all as deep as Ninja Gaiden, DMC, Bayonetta or Sekiro but it has some charm
>>731040669no
>>731042283What the fuck are you talking about? Lol
>>731042404read nigga READ
>>731042328It's not worth 60$ though
>>731040669I've a literal pirated version of it tho?
>>731042328I played Ninja Gaiden. I still don't understand what's so deep about IS Spam and Izuna Dropping an entire wave of enemy
>>73104066960? fuck no. game's basically every free environment pack made into a separate level. >jungle, desert (same ue5 reveal trailer assets), snow level, cave level, default ue5 forest level>upgraded to 4kthe game is demanding as fuck and you cant run it properly with a 5090 at that res + raytracing
>>731041365It has more bosses than Sekiro which I think is the main appeal of that game, and it has a more involved combat system than Sekiro which I personally think is better but it's not as polished or cinematic I guess, so you may not like it as much.
>>731042328>putting sekiro with the rest of the greatsmade me reply 2/10
>>731042328It's better than Shitkiro and all Fromslop, Fromshill.
>>731041365Sekiro has nothing on WuKong. WuKong is better than it in every way even down to its presentation. Sekiro runs, looks, and plays like shit in comparison.
Super Robot Wars Y made me realize that /v/ won't play a game if it's Denuvo-protected, so I doubt anyone here has actually played it.
>>731043165I'd buy it if they offered a worthwhile discount. No way I'm paying 69.420 bucks for chong's first foray into AAA
>>731042517Probably also got a virus installed. None of the available torrents I found are reliable or even updated. For more information, to pic related.
>>731040669It's a real good game, I got it for 30 and had a blastIt's hard too, don't know how much compared to souls but it's not a game where you can easily first try bosses and there's no real leveling up shortcuts you're kinda forced to learn patterns
Has anyone played this and can't remember a single thing about it? I easily diced each boss but hardly recall any of them being worthy to discuss.
>>731042778>>731042907OP here-- Sekiro is one of my favorite games of all time. You're not gonna convince anyone who has actually played it that it's a bad game.
It's worth the discount if you like these types of games. Better than Sekiro but that isn't a high bar in itself.
>>731041448>muh 10 millionFunnily, most of which (and the positive reviews) refunded the game. And most of which are also from Chinese accounts. Weird that, huh.
>>731042404>How are you faggots still held back by denuvo? It's uncracked, dumbass. That's how.
>>731043656You got more options and variety to hit your bosses than press x to QTE each boss fight.
>>731043656Sekiro is just an inferior version of it in every way and it has hot women in it which makes it 100 times better.
>>731043760Sorry, I'm not of the school of thought that anything about Sekiro's combat was boring. You aren't going to convince me that Wukong is worth $60 with extremely lazy rhetoric like that.
It's okay, but I wouldn't pay more than $20, same as sekiro, it's got the same sort of "TECHNICALLY there's a world with stuff in it" vibes, where the only meaningful content in the game is the boss fights, the rest of it is just ferrying you between with some cute setpieces and pretty views.
>>731043751Meant for >>731042283.
>>731043725Do you have any evidence that it was heavily refunded?
>>731044148That's just his americuck cope
>>731044047I dont know what to tell you besides works on my machine.
>>731044419Yeah and you've also got a virus or a bitcoin miner now. Congrats.
For a game that apparently had so many sales (and no refunds you conspiracy theorists!) it sure got forgotten real quick and nobody is talking about it or trying to make a game like it. Also for newfriends in bad faith you can sort by language in steam reviews, and many anons did just that and shown and discussed the insane amount of Chinese refunds on launch that also had positive reviews.
>>731040669Fuck the tiger fight and that red boy 2nd phase
>>731044550Yeah, like I said. Fearmongering shill.
>>731044798Both those fights are cool though. I more hate the slow boring fights like the rhino or the rock frog
>>731040669>Is it worth $60No. It's worth around $40 though. >>731041114 This guy is either shitposting or delusional. The game's third chapter feels like it goes on forever and is by far the worst part of the entire game while the fifth chapter feels like it's overstaying its welcome. Many of the bosses feel more like lame minibosses than proper bosses, and it's one of the games that loves to throw multi phases on a lot of bosses for no reason. 90% of what you pick up is worthless and worse than early game outfits and equips because the early game outfits and equips have absurdly good passives to the point that I wore the Pluck of Many one until endgame. It's also extremely poorly balanced, requires you to go to NG++ to 100% it, and an unlock in NG++ (Your Wukong style) is worse than normal attacks once you reach that point so it's actually a downgrade for you to unlock it.The main impressive part about the game is how many unique assets exist across the entire game and that includes every single enemy having unique animations. It is also stunningly beautiful in everything but chapter 5. The only time it ever remotely becomes like Sekiro is a boss in a pond early in the game that has a few phases, and then the true ending boss. Everything outside of that is fairly easy and doesn't require crazy amounts of parries or even focusing on posture like Sekiro did. It's a solid game but you can clearly see it's got a lot of quantity over quality, and if you have not read the entirety of Wukong's story none of the game makes any sense. None of the areas, none of the characters, nothing. It assumes you have a Chinese-level understanding of Chinese cosmology, religion, and folklore since this is a direct sequel to the story.
>>731040669It's probably the only game released in this decade that can justify a $60 price tag
>>731042778>>731042907kys trannies
>>731044805>fearmongeringLol ok. Care to share where you got your free version, then?Pic related has the highest number of seeds on qBittorrent's search engine and it gets automatically flagged as a trojan in Windows11 when you open the folder. Looks like a lot of the other available torrents got removed recently as well, presumably for similar reasons.
Its alright but theres no parrying besides one cooldown skill. If you like parry heavy games then dont play it.
>>731045150Ah so now your bitchass wants to be spoonfed. Fuck off. You can find it easily online. Here is an older pic in game since I dont have it installed anymore.
>>731044947I'm mainly seeking a fresh experience with gorgeous grafix as a way to break in my new rig. A lot of the games I've been playing are either older or are games I've already played (albeit on a significantly shittier build, but a new coat of paint hardly makes for a fresh experience when i've already put 100+ hours into a game). Paying $60 for something like that seems like a bad idea unless the game is legitimately amazing or has infinite replay value. From what you've said, sounds like Wukong definitely isn't that.
>>731045835>spoonfedPeople like you are such disingenuous scum. I literally posted every single possible reason I could have for being wary of pirating an uncracked game, and instead of proving me wrong you claim that the error is my own for not doing enough research? >you can find it easily onlineYes, I know-- I litrally provided you with a screenshot of one of the "easily found" ones that are online. The problem is that the "easily found ones" you are describing are either a trojan or link you to some Russian pay site. Which leads me to believe that your rig is compromised and that you are an idiot.
I wouldn't stress too much over it. The only fights I liked that didn't feel like absolute bullshit were the Tigers and the final boss*. I've never been so frustrated with bosses in these type of games, they're just so fucking gay. Admiral Bright-eyes from the prison, that stupid weird thing with the magic heat seeking missles in the prison, that stupid fucking scorpion man. Yeah fuck this game.Tigers and (you) were kino though.
>>731041114>Sekiro>a game that's all about parrying with some tools, mostly about reaction because Wolf is supposed to be fragile>Wukong>a game about dodging and abusing the overpowered magic system so you can combo, because you're a magic monkeyI'm not really seeing it.
>>731046248Yes, you fucking retard. If you are so stupid that you cant google "offline denuvo activation" then you deserve to be spat on. Dont reply to me with your faggotry again.
>>731046862>he paid for the offline version Oh I see. Yeah, I'm definitely not doing that.
>>731043390No, he probably uses denuvo pub and those places that give you activation tokens. They used to be paid services, mostly a couple bucks, but now there are some free with Discord servers.
>>731045908It's a Soulslike with no build variety since there is exactly one weapon and a million passives that aren't worth investing into so it does have replayability but only up to a certain point. Most of the replayability after NG++ is strictly in the boss rush mode that is for masochists who hate their lives and all it nets you is some weapons that are nearly all worse than the NG++ staff barring one which is a minor increase at best.
>>731047328But it at least looks nice though, right? I'm willing to forgive non-stellar gameplay as long as the world is fun to explore and and the story is interesting enough to keep you invested in the narrative.
>>731047328The final staff may technically be worse than the Dark Iron Staff in terms of raw damage numbers but it's the coolest staff gameplay wise.
>>731047475>But it at least looks nice though, right?Yes. It is gorgeous and has tons of visual variety. The worst it ever gets is the first half of chapter 3 and all of chapter 5, and even chapter 5 had some cool spots.>as long as the world is fun to exploreIt's a mixed bag. Chapter 1 is by far the best for that, chapter 2 is a okay but nothing special, chapter 3's first half sucks so much ass while the second half is cool, chapter 4 is the second best for that, chapter 5 is insanely linear, and chapter 6 is more open but there's next to nothing to do in it outside of the main story objectives.>the story is interesting enough to keep you invested in the narrative. Are you Chinese or a Chinaboo, yes or no?"Yes" then maybe, it all depends on if you like Journey to the West. It's a direct sequel to the original story and is functionally a playable fanfic."No" then not at all at any point in your life. The game assumes you were raised Chinese and already understand Chinese cosmology, religion, general way of viewing the world, folklore, and have an in-depth understanding of Journey to the West including even minor characters in the story. You genuinely will have to look up a 5+ hour breakdown of the JttW story and all the Chinese idioms, colloquialisms, folklore, and Buddhism/Confucianism to understand what is even happening in the story. Even if you understand the Chinese view on theology and cosmology it's still somewhat confusing to wrap your head around the whole multiple buddhas thing and how Wukong himself was a buddha, there's various reincarnation states of being, many of the bosses you fight are screwing up their cycles or whatever, etc.
>>731043725Asmongold and Pekora like it.
>>731047913I'm not Chinese, I'm American and know very, very little about Chinese culture. I'm not hopelessly ignorant, but after Wuchang I am most definitely intrigued and want to learn more. Wuchang also assumed that the player knew a thing or two about Chinese culture/history, and I enjoyed the process of looking things up and making connections between the in-game story and chink folklore. Their culutre and history is incredibly dense and rich, and I enjoy the process of solving the mysteries behind the meaning of whatever catches my fancy. So although I appreciate the warning, it honestly sounds like it'd be a great way to dip my feet further into crazy Chinese nonsense.
>>731040669$40 because most fights are easy
>>731048398The thing is that Wuchang's story (As far as I've seen it) can be followed without knowledge outside of a surface level. Wukong already dives into it expecting you to know who someone like Zhu Bajie is, who the Jade Emperor is, how dharma works, how buddhas work, how the celestial hierarchy works, etc. The story makes zero sense if you don't know this or the original story. This guy for example requires you to know how the Chinese afterlife works.
>>731048359it (the pay-cheques)
It's pretty fun but not worth full price if it hasn't already interested you enough to buy
>>731048667Sounds interesting as fuck, desu.
>>731049175Then give it a go when it gets a price drop. It's a solid game, it's just way overhyped by everyone who talks about it. I went into it with an open mind and enjoyed my time with it, waiting on them to release the DLC in fifty years. If you're willing to give my ramblings a shot I write down the pros, neutrals, and cons as I play through games so I can remember stuff due to my poor memory so if you want to give this a read by all means.
>>731040669If i had this cracked what you give me in return?
>>731048667>Wukong already dives into it expecting you to know who someone like Zhu Bajie is, who the Jade Emperor is, how dharma works, how buddhas work, how the celestial hierarchy works, etc. The story makes zero sense if you don't know this or the original story.nobody in china knows how any of this works either because it was all erased during the cultural revolution. the story is all fake.
You first monkey power you unlock is turd toss. kek.
>>731041365>improved Sekiro Holy shit, the chinks have reached levels of delusion that were previously thought impossible. Monkey souls was astroturfed hard and rightfully forgotten.
>>731049523Nothing. Simple as.
>>731040669It's more of a $40 game. I only played it because it has animal characters. If you like games with animal characters it does a good job at that. Everything else? Not so much.
>>731040669i never understood the hype, it just looks like a repetitive hack & slash.
>>731050323Kino story.
>>731040669soon
>>731050323Do you like any melee action games?
Just get an offline activation...
>They don't know
>>731040669https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpZQ6rQbw98
>>731053283is it anything like MGR?
>>731041365It's not. There is a reason this game was shilled so hard for release and then immediately forgotten. Also 95% of the playerbase is from China and they even had a state-mandated day off when the game released.
>>731054147No, I wouldn't say it is at all.
>>731054417>they even had a state-mandated day off when the game releasedSurely there is a ton of proof for such an out there claim?
>>731040669I liked the game but I would wait for a sale. It feels like someone took modern technology and graphical fidelity and made a PS2 action game with it. I don't say that as a negative, the game just feels old, stylistically. Very graphically maximalist too, where something like Dark Souls just has a simple bonfire, every Wukong save/heal point has this elaborate animation that plays out when you activate them. That's a lot of the game's visual style in a nutshell, highly maximalist, for better or worse. As for the gameplay itself, people say it's a level-based Soulslike but honestly that does it a disservice. The more you play the less the stamina bar really matters, and the more you'll want to depend on skills and transformations. Really the only thing the game takes from Dark Souls is the bonfire/estus system, and even that has a few spins on it like being able to find different types of healing gourds. And yeah, it's worth mentioning that like the actual Monkey King there's spells you can cast to transform into different stuff. Mostly monsters, and mostly for combat, but it's interesting to play around with different equipment, style, and transformation options. That said, this game isn't terribly deep as far as combat goes. If you're going in expecting Journey to the West starring Dante from the Devil May Cry series then don't bother. But it's fun enough, the levels are enjoyable to explore, and the game ends before it wears out it's welcome. Overall a solid 8/10 and I'd definitely be interested in how a sequel could iterate on some of the more interesting ideas. According to SteamDB it goes on sale for 20% off, and I'd give it an easy recommend at that price.
>>731040669It's basically a dumbed down Nioh crossed with Dad of War. Great art direction and production values with generally above-average level design for this kind of game, but it also has this distinct feeling of jank to it. Also some baffling terrible design choices like several essential bosses needing to have an easily misseable side quest completed otherwise when you fight them they're harder, but not in the sense that they're buffed, it either lets them cheat (the weasel in the sandstorm) or outright gimps you from using core mechanics (the spider dude).
>>731053619rip him pc.....
>>731040669no it's a fucking chinese souls slop so double slopgame was astroturfed hard by chinks, it's actually average
>>731055010Damn, I wish we had more average games then
