Its perfectly fine.Covenant was way better overall but is a direct sequel and it feels even better as one when played back to back esp from a gameplay perspective. By Covenant, it felt like they traded the creepy occult stuff for anime posing and goofy villains. Still fun, but man, that tonal shift was jarring.

>>731055569So if you include Koudelka, which is essentially a PS1 game in the same series by the same guy, let's say that's a horror game and the series gets progressively less horror in each of the three sequels. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of cool spooky and creepy locations in this, but my impression was the first place you go after you get control is the darkest. It's overall serious even though it has humorous elements.

Cool dark vibe, definitely a lot stronger than the sequels in that regard since it doesn't lean into corny comedy and is less tonally confused
