Thoughts?
>>
I can barely make any headway on rank 10.
>>
i didn't like the first one that much
would i like two?
>>
>>731049265
Maybe, I got bored of the first game pretty quick but 2 feels a lot better.
The new clans and enemies are more interesting imo. Its worth a shot at least.
>>
>>731049265
I tried out 1 and 2 is a massive improvement having a deployment phase alone helps out so many clans
>>
How do I git gud with Lazarus league?
>>
>>731048583
Best of the roguelike deck builders I've played (lol at that being a genre).
Pretty much every run I've done has been different and I've been a tester on this game with like 400 hours in it now.

Hope the modding scene takes off.

Gilda is fucking hot.

alright, i'll nab it next time it goes on sale
>>
underlegion is the clan for men of discerning taste
>>
>spend entire fight scaling a monster on the top floor to crazy numbers
>boss dies before it even gets off the bottom floor
Its a pretty unsatisfying feeling.

as far as slay the spire inspired games, it's one of the better ones. it's basically just this and cross blitz that I regularly play, but both less than slay the spire. sequel is better than the original.
>>
>>731049265
doubtful. it's better but the core gameplay is the same. I think most people that like the original will like the new one slightly more, but if you don't like the core you don't like the core.

it has a demo on steam that will let you know if the basic changes (like room and equipment cards, and banner units you get to summon on turn 0) actually change your enjoyment.

unironically they're one of the strongest. stack lots of reanimate on anything with good attack, win. it doesn't matter how much damage a boss deals or how much health your unit has if they have many revives. you need to watch out for certain things that can fuck you, like without enough actual damage you might lose against the stalling miniboss that reduces damage by a flat amount you have to lower with each hit.
>>
it's more fun than slay the spire
>>
>>731048583
100%'d it (except le beat titans on covenant 10 with every combination).
wish there was more covenant levels but i got 70 hours worth of fun
>>
I don't think

I want the fat dragon lady to sit on me.
Outside of that pretty good game.
>>
>>731057287
ill bet you do fenix
>>
>>731057287
the fat dragon looks like something out of some furry bait porn game. Feels really out of place compared to the other characters.
>>
>>731050410
You probably won't because it leans into its tower defense aspects a little bit more. The addition of a Deployment Phase means a lot less to worry about if you got fucked over your first turn. You'll get fucked if you don't take the Savagery boss seriously though.

Fun games. I'm waiting for the last update in MT2's roadmap before delving back to it.
>>731050976
Reanimate, unstable and equip trigger stacking are all powerful tools.
>>
I like the Mushroom lady not because I want her to step on me (I mean do but not because of that) but her gameplay of giving the enemy 80 gorillion decay stacks is cool. Think the Underlegion is my favorite clan.
>>
>unlock the clans from the first game
>they start at level 1
Come on, unlocking all the cards for everyone else is enough of a grind. I just want to get to the point where I have everything and can start really grinding covenant 10

how do I git gud at this game
t. was also shit at slay the spire
>>
>>731050976
mix is the most broken starter card in the game because it can do whatever it is you lack
baron grael's +damage to the whole floor on equip is one of the strongest champ paths in the game because of how quickly it scales
their tome and spike are also bonkers OP
>>
>>731064252
every run you need to find a damage scaling solution and a survivability solution
this sounds very simple but in practice there's a ton of different ways to go about this because of the vast number of buffs and debuffs in this game. and sometimes your solutions overlap IE putting quick on a sweeper when you have good damage scaling is also survivability because you are killing before the enemies can hurt you
as far as mundane general gameplay tips i would say really think about whether you can take trials or not. gold is important but slamming a trial to take 40 damage because you can't stop heaven's seal enemies is a bad move. also deployable inferno room solves non-boss waves for the entire midgame so if you don't know what your run is doing you can visit arms shops to just try and find it
>>
>>731064252
>Have a plan for everything the game can throw at you (examples: you need a tanky frontline for Relentless, you need your damage dealer to be a little tanky to deal with Sweep enemies or spikes, you need a way to hit the backline to deal with enemy backlines before they smack you for 32x2 each, you need at least some presence on multiple floors to deal with stuff like Savagery doing pyre damage on empty floors, etc)
>Related to the above: at the start of the run just pause to take a look at the flying bosses you're going to have to deal with and keep them in mind while you're deckbuilding so you aren't caught without a solution (example: I see I'll have to fight Dominant Seraph later, so traditional tanking with healing/armor won't work, I should prioritise survivability that doesn't care about massive stacking Corruption like Reanimate, or maybe find a way to get disposable blockers like morsels, or even get an ascend/descend card with Holdover so he can't double corruption at all). The further you plan ahead the more chance you have to find said solution
>This is actually a pretty hard game especially at high covenants, swallow your pride and handpick a synergistic clan combo/pyre heart and use restarts liberally while you're learning the game. Playing random/random/no retries is for the old hand deckbuilder grognards with 5,000 hours in the genre
