A simple launch option allowed you to log in to the community server with the OOTB version, and there was a simple mod to revert the game's changes back to the GOTY version that everyone says they loved. Not only this, but Llamagrab offered free, fully configurable servers for either version of the game, so you could join in on private /v/ game nights on solid stable servers with all the shazbots and racial slurs you could hope for.And no one did whenever a game night was attempted for Tribes Ascend, so you deserve it being as dead as it is.

I miss old starseige tribes servers that were modded out with insane kits like super heavy that was just a turtle with ridiculous firepower or super light that were crazy assassin classes. New deployables and other cool things.

One major redpill ive had to take is that normies for some weird reason I dont understand absolutely hate shooters with good fun fast movement. This is why every new shooter now has incredibly slow, shitty movement and refuses to add anything interesting. Every time a good movement shooter comes out that lets the player go fast it has a small amount of hype for a few weeks and then dies, or is DOA, it happened with the new tribes. I WANT something like tribes or to be popular, it SHOULD be, i had a ton of fun with the new one and remember playing acend when it was new, I was in middle school at the time. But for some reason, 99% of players will look at how fast it is and just say "no, i cant play that".

The infuriating thing is that the T3 beta test was pretty fun. Not TA levels since the design was different but it could have been successful again. Then they just had to ruin it with everything else.
