I am new to PC gaming, this isn't normal, right?
If you're not installing to a SSD, yeah.
its normal. its probably just unpacking archives or moving things from the temp directory to the install directory
Try deleting the system 32 folder in your Windows install folder. That should fix it.
>>731049858I should add, steam downloads and installs your game at the same time, instead of downloading everything and then installing. I don't know why. But when your network speed is 0, that means your PC is doing the installing/unpacking/etc
it is
>>731049890I agree with this.Always works for me when I have troubles.
>>731049787no its not, you most likely have a virus, if you keep downloading games your PC will explode
>>731049858It's a SSD.>>731049878Huh. Thanks, anon.>>731049909Thanks, anon.
>>731049787Wait until you PC explodes because of how poorly optimized the game is
>>731050095Try a laptop.
>>731050132Kek even worse
>>731049890I'm on SteamOS
>>731050095>why yes, my PC is from 20086, how an you tell?
>>731049787You can do basic math right?650 download speed, 200 disk usage that means that there will be a 2 space gap between each install peak
>>731049890This isn't a thing anymore, reddit it tor.
>>731050379I'm not a reddit, I'm just very old.
>>731050358I asked because I download 94Gb in 10 to 11 minutes on Series X, thank you, anon.
>>731050426I am old too, you should know about 32, anon, even I know.
>>731050473Either your hard drive is shit and/or there's a bunch of background processes going on.
It's normal but youre not.
>>731049787see if your disk is full of data. if so delete a bunch of crap.
>>731050658Not really, Steam is just shit at installing games
>>731050682>>731050739Fuck, this SSD was supposed to be good. Thanks anons, gonna keep an eye on it.>>731050769This was my thought too, but better ask amd learn.
>>731050810You could try different locations tooJust go to settings and the downloads and change download region, it may help sometimes even cities farther away have better speeds
unpacking takes longer when you're processing a bunch of small files versus a small number of larger files. for comparison's sake my wotr install has 24011 and bg3 has 434.
