There are many issues with Odin's depiction in this game, I don't think this is one of them. Odin is a very specific god in the myths, you can't just box him in with others. He practices "feminine" magic. In Asgard, he's built temples dedicated to worship of unknown gods. He embodies antithetical concepts in singular form. I think visually he's fine. It would be more kino if they put gold or silver shavings into his clothes so when he walks near torches, it gets otherworldly glint, which is a real thing practiced by Norse seers, but whatever.

Where they've completely lost me is when he opened his mouth. What a terrible script. Whoever wrote that piece of shit dialogue should be taken behind the barn. Shame about Angrboda too. Could've been a god from a distant realm but no, she is actually a Norse god because fuck you.

One of the main themes of the norse/proto germanic god myths is that gods really are just normal people with super powers and really bad tempers, all the stories are either about the people of the realms subverting the gods, or the gods proving that they are evil/pathetic. What the fuck are you babbling about, you idiot? In GOW2 Kratos was literally made a mortal again. All the Olympian power that actually made him a god was taken from him. He became a demigod at that point. It has nothing to do with veneration or worship, or the lack thereof. Zeus and the Olympians made Kratos a god of Olympus at the end of GOW1, and in the beginning of GOW2 Kratos put all his godly powers into the Sword of Olympus, and he never actually recovered them back from the sword. He's not a god because he is literally not a god. He wasn't born one, and after surrendering the power Zeus and the Olympians gave him into the Sword of Olympus and those same Olympians rejecting him, he was just a demigod and mortal once again.

And if you mean the mythological Kratos the game is based off, that Kratos was actually a Titan, and one of the few that sided with Olympus during the Titanomachy.
