anyway, I want to build a sim rig
what brands should I buy from? what games should I play? I heard iracing is the most active and competitive but costs a lot and the graphics are bad
also how powerful pc do you need for these sim games?

Sim rigs are kind of a waste of money, if you're smart you'll just build your own. Mine is just bolted together unistrut.

You want some half decent pedals with at least a load cell brake, and a DD wheel. Shifter is whatever, I still use my G25 one. If you don't know if you're into sim racing yet, which you don't, just buy a cheap FFB wheel and bolt it to your fucking desk, retard.

I'm mainly interested in gt3, and f1 cars so I don't need a seperate shifter or a clutch, pedal shifters will do fine no?

Why not? Have it your way anon.

Budget is by far the biggest decider on this shit.
Low - Logitech
Mid - Thrustmaster
High - Fanatec

iRacing is a decent sim game but it's a subscription. Play literally anything else. Assetto Corsa, BeamNG, rFactor, or Motortown.

All you need to simulate a first person shooter is a VR goggle, your tactical operator rig, and maybe a gun prop.
I play Meta Quest 3, also connected to my PC. My rig is a spine protector shell, a belt with suspenders, three attachments onto my belt for bottles, two thigh bags, and two MOLLE attachments at my thigh.
I have a gun prop, but the gun prop is kinda difficult to use for my favorite VR FPS.

I just got into simracing this year. Some tips:

>Logitech g29 wheel is your best bet for a beginner. Moza R3/5 is the next step up
>Don't buy a rig. Just clamp the wheel to your desk. Most people jump into the hobby with a $700 rig and find out they don't actually like it
>If you do get a rig, there's several good brands out there so just google search and check reddit reviews. If you are handy, you can buy one from alibaba and get it shipped since they are all made from the same factories, just unbranded. Better yet, build your own with wood or two spare ladders and search your junkyard for a seat
>iracing is the definitive simracing game, but be aware you need to pay for the base game, pay for DLC if you want to race in certain leagues, then pay a monthly subscription just to use it. Shit adds up. If you want to be more casual, you can go with Le Mans or Automobilista 2 which are one-time purchases, but obviously the communities are smaller
>You don't need much of a PC to play these games since you can crank down the graphics. If you want to realism-max and get a triple monitor or VR setup or whatever you will want at least a 3070

I have an epic simrig. Here is what I would do
> If you don't know if you're into sim racing yet, which you don't, just buy a cheap FFB wheel and bolt it to your fucking desk
i did that when i first started. Only buy a rig when you know you like simracing

>I'm mainly interested in gt3, and f1 cars so I don't need a seperate shifter or a clutch, pedal shifters will do fine no?
if you only care about racing then you won't need a clutch. No one uses a clutch for ranked online racing as it only slows you down.
>I want to build a sim rig
whats your budget?

With low powered wheels the main issue is going to be pedals sliding around. Why they don't ship with a fucking cord to wrap around chair legs, I'll never know.

Before anyone says g29 or T300, there is no reason to don't have a DD wheel in current year. For 245 bucks you can already have one with better specs and feedback than the classic entry level options.
The only question is choosing PXN or Moza as your first wheel.

Look for a wheel over 8nm in strength.
A cheap 8040 alu profile rig is all you need
Any load cell pedals will do.
I play LMU and AMS2.
AC is good for a potato PC. GT7 is great on console.

Damn wheels are now so delicate you measure them in nanometers?
>>
>>731058749
first you just buy a wheel and pedals to figure out if that's something you wish to spend any more money on after the initial novelty wears off

No point in a g29 when you can get a PXN 10 Ultra or a Moza R3. No reason to get anything but a DD setup in current market.

You see that this faggot doesn't actually drive a car irl by how he doesn't invariably push himself back when operating the pedals because he's such a delicate little faggot (also evidenced by the girl hands). inb4 hurr durr le carpet, literally doesn't matter, the chair doesn't move at all.

These are cheap pedals and he uses a homemade rubber instead of a cell.

>>731068929
Those are fanatec pedals. They're not cheap (at least not by simtard standards).
