Is this game better or worse than The Forest? how does it compare? the description says the survival mechanics are super realistic and complex. Are they?

Probably worse
This is the first green hell thread ive seen in like 6 years
>>

I've not played The Forest, but Green Hell is great. in VR is literally a horror game the survival mechanics are really stressful
>>
>>731067369
Kino setting but exponentially more stressful. Forest is better as a ‘game’, Green Hell is a better survival sim. I got infected with stomach parasites in minutes and vomited to death. It was still fun.

>is it better or worse
Depends what are you looking for in this type of game. Green Hell is super realistic and unforgiving, if you don't know the fuck you're doing. Drinking from a river can kill you.
While in The Forest it basically boils down to
>don't eat raw flesh
>don't eat human meat only to keep your sanity in check
and that's it.

Is it -90% on Steam? WTF? For less than $3 it's a gift.
>>

its okay fun but will gape you sidewise early game, especially if you are unlucky.
my only gripe is the random cannibals running around destroying my base, while I explore. I know you can turn them off, but that removes the fun alltogether
I didnt buy it on release, so iunno how bad it was back then.
>>
>>731067369
Better. It's less gay and woke than the forest.
>>
>>731067369
it is much better than the forest and still marginally better than sons of the forest

never happened to me, he probably smoked meat thinking it would last forever if left on the rack (it still rots at the normal rate if you leave it on it after it's due). The trick is to eat it directly from the rack without picking it up in the inventory

It was a good adventure, but ending was kinda crap.
I had to look up what to do since I was clueless.
Shitty game design that you first have to follow instructions to proceed but at the end you are expected to use your own brain to figure out a game mechanic that wasn't explained earlier.
Tribal prequel DLC was crap, it had no story, just stupid meta shit.

Green hell manages something lots of survival games fail at, the survival remain tough most of the game. Things can spiral out of control easily with just one mistake even during end game. Also it's less grinding focused than the forest, it won't asks to destroy a small forest to build a hut.
