Can we have one (1) Stardew Valley thread that won't devolve into waifu shit flinging but instead talk about actual farming?

Do it, then. What about the farming?

Farming?

I'm on year six of my traveling cart run. I gave myself extra challenges like no mines and only able to earn cash from board requests. Getting the seed maker from the CC was a game changer

When are they gonna add the farmer to Smash Bros?
>>
SVE and ridgeside kinda sucks, but I try to endure.
>>
The actual farming and production chains js the best thing about SV. The game's social component sucks and I feel like characters have less lines than NPCs from fucking HM64. I also don't care for the combat aspect of farming sims. Mining is fine but it should be kept to mining.

Is this game actually worth playing if you are not playing it with a woman

I struggle with this game because I just want to chill and farm and whatnot but my gamer-brain keeps nagging me to optimize as best as I can and I kill any form of enjoyment I have. Knowing you basically NEED the wiki to complete even the most basic of tasks also ruins it. It's not even playing a game if I'm just reading a guide and following step by step. I'll bake a fucking pie if I'm going to be following a recipe.

Been thinking about coming back to SV and looking through mods, could you elaborate? Those two add a lot of extra content, is it just bad?

i've never once touched external information for stardew my man. your inability to seek out and parse in-game info is not the game's fault

Ape also agreed with that which is why the 1.7 update is going to add to the social aspects of the game

Alright, perhaps I've over looked things. Here's one that bugs me though and maybe in-game does in fact have an answer for it. Fishing challenge, some fish only appear at certain times, or under certain weather conditions. Is there ANY way of deterring this without spending hours fishing under every conceivable combination of weather, time, and date?

Is there like a mod pack that is just a great collection of stuff? I'd love to get back in, and try a fresher experience.

The TV show tells you about some fish, and the library has some books about fish. I don't think it's exhaustive but it will let you get a majority of them.
also magic bait

Ridgeside villagers have weird art style and don't fit in the game.
Same for most SVE characters.
Adds extra energy at the beginning so there's less progression.
New plants and stuff are pointless and adds meaningless clutter.
Some new fish ruin the game as those prevent you from getting trash and other fish.
Items are usually really high value and numerous for no reason so you will end up getting tons of money early.
I'd rather play without it.

Game should show in the gallery when and where you can catch each fish, once you have caught them once or seen the info somewhere.
It's a shit design that you have to remember everything for yourself or read the wiki.

damn, some of these other farm layouts look really nice. i've only ever had one file that i have 100ish hours on, and its on the basic format >>731069019
if i start over at some point i would absolutely pick another, but i dont think theres much reason to really go back and do this all over again, aside from maybe picking a different wife. i should finish building the resort and doing all the other shit on the volcano island instead

>if i start over at some point i would absolutely pick another

I got a new PC recently and I was forced to start a new save. I picked a different layout and to my disappointment, that world didn't last very long. It wasn't as engaging as my first save that was running ever since I installed the game. I'm trying to recreate the magic that got me hooked in the first place. I can't repeat what I already did, but if I do things differently, it's not as fun.

starting over after losing a file with hundreds of hours is always a bitch/feels pointless in any game. no matter what you try to do, you always think "what i had before was better" even if it wasn't, and thats because you spent so much time and effort making and adjusting it. thats why i see no reason to start this over, especially since my file still exists
