What went wrong with FNAF as a series and how would you fix it?
>>731073051all series must conclude, or they stagnate and malform into something unrecognizable
>>731073051go back to the point and click format, or at least make a free roam game with sections similar to the old games that aren't shit

>>731077339This but with all the animatronics
>>731073051>how would you fix it?You can't.Seriously the games are so chaotic and the community is so divided that if you were to "fix" one aspect of the series it would be considered an existential threat to everything else. No one knows what Fnaf is or needs anymore.Fnaf has become just a self-sustaining organism unshackled by any master with a clear creative vision.
I'd personally say it all went wrong the moment they revealed that Fazbear Entertainment somehow came back, became as big as Disney when everything before indicated that they were nowhere near that level considering that they always had about 1 to 3 restaurants open at most, and also they were always like this from the start and they're actually from the 1930s/40s.That just killed any and all suspension of disbelief.
>>731073051>how would you fix it?Tell Scott to stop milking his franchise.
>>731073051Wrap it up and make something new.But it's a money printer so why would he? I know I wouldn't, if anything I put out added an extra 0 or two to my bank account.
>2 is not a prequel>End everything on 3>Want to squeeze some more dosh from dumb kids? Then just do side stories about loose ends after it There. If you want shit more coherent then have Mike from the first game doing autistic detective work, investigating the mystery of muh dead kids or whatever
>>731079136>they're actually from the 1930s/40s.are you for real
I never played it because when it was coming out my brother got really into it and I hated everything he ever showed me (slender and undertale as other examples)then he claimed he was a tranny and got arrested for having cp on his pc and phone
It jumped the shark for me when it stopped being about malfunctioning animatronics and turned into child souls and soul ectoplasm bullshit or whatever
>>731079315>Stop capitalizing off your massive successYeah that'll happen
>>731080371Courtesy of Help Wanted 2
>>731080480It's been about that from the first game bro.The animatronics in the first game aren't scary because they're killer robots, they're scary in the same way haunted objects like Annabelle are, it's something that should be lifeless coming to fuck you up the ass. Which is why them barely being shown moving in the first few games works so well.
>>731073159Fnaf did concludeseveral timespeople just kept getting it so wrong they felt the need to make new games to correct everyones mistakes, only for more mistakes to be made
THIS ATTRACTION IS GREATSO MANY GUARDS I CAN RAPE
>>731073051I have only ever played and looked into the lore of the first game, so I can only comment on that one. I don't like the paranormal element of the lore. It's just too played out in horror media. I really liked the kafkaesque veneer of the plot. Trying to rationalize it with "oh, the robots are possessed, actually" was just dumb. But I did like the part with all the murders that happened in the background, the establishment trying to cover it up, and nobody bothering to check the suits for bodies. That played into the nonsensical and nightmarish feeling of the setting, which is what I appreciated about the game the most aside from its aesthetic and unique minimalist gameplay loop.
>>731079136Honestly I think you should just assume that everything from Help Wanted onwards is its own separate canon, for your own sanity's sake. It's pretty clear that they wanted to softly reboot the game's lore at this point anyways
Just keep making new games to the best of your ability and add whatever you think is fun to the lore. The franchise prints money, new children will be made to enjoy it all the time. Who gives a fuck that some balding 40 year old on youtube is mad that the lore is bad?
i will say springtrap is fucking peak design wise and probably the best thing to ever come frmo the mascot horror genre
>>731082696Kids don't engage with Fnaf. Yeah now the series is the most culturally relevant it has ever been but all of that culturally impact is centered on the original series of games and also mocking how bad the new series is.The new lore exclusively appeals to the lorefags who don't care about anything else and just want to consume any story with a Freddy slapped into it.
>>731083090I don't know too much about the series to be fair but my niece has all the games and I took her and her friends to watch the movies as part of a chaperoned outing. She even has some of the books she got with her own money. I think that there is genuine interest in the series from young people. I have never been a horror game fan so I have only played the VR titles (sounds strange when I type it out, but honestly I was just looking for any VR game to play) but I genuinely do think the winning move is just to make new content. I think this would work for all the franchises around. The big issue you see for a lot of failing franchises is that they put out a stinker and just let that stand for months or even years when they should be making new content consistently to have the franchise be able to move on.
