Okay, but does anyone have any examples of this?
>>731116187Examples? I know Final Fantasy 2 (JP) just goes back to the title screen if you cheat and beat the unscripted opening encounter, and it works because it stops the plot from ever happening, but that one probably isn't intentional and just a failsafe.

That fucking wolf Boss in tales of vesperia
This was me the first time I fought Raven Beak in Metroid Dread, which is odd because the fight's really not that much harder than the rest of the game. I distinctly remember having this specific reaction, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why I did.
>>731118709Neat, I was thinking of Tales of Destiny. You beat Leon early in the game and Stahn and Rudy go on to become famous Lens hunters
>>731118975>Enemy is actually really easy to deal with>They just gave them infinite health and the story won't progress until you lose
>>731118975One of the few times this actually made senseWhat the fuck are you gonna do to stop him from forcing you to play?
>>731118884Some people also forget that he was holding and moving an entire island through the air with tens of thousands of people on it
>>731114195I remember having this reaction with the Oroborous fight in SMT Strange Journey. I was pretty young when I played that game and hadn't played a lot of hard games at the time, so when I saw that the boss was healing a bunch every turn I figured there must be some trick to it. Like I had to fight it on a certain moon phase or do a certain side quest to make it weaker. But no, that boss is basically just a damage/"Do you understand Demon Co-op" check. I did eventually beat it but man, it was a wakeup call about game difficulty for me.

The genocide route is just him tut-tutting at you for playing the bad route, and how a good person would just stop playing it,After you beat the game properly the kill options are permanently greyed out across all save files, requiring a fresh install to play the genocide route. The sequel has the same premise but doesn't give you the option to kill at all, just the player choosing how to non-lethally deal with the invaders.

>>731122583Hard level, easy boss. The boss becomes a victory lap for beating the level, just a cherry on top of a sundae. This is the most fun. You have fun in a hard level and you get reward at the end. Easy level, hard boss? Terrible.
