I'm genuinely confused about this fanbase more than any other video game series on the market.I went into this game; told by people it had 10/10 gameplay, the best magic system in an rpg, and personally knew of dozens of players with 1000s of hours in the base unmoded game.I dont get it though, to me it just seems like another generic hack and slash.I put about 10 hours into dark arisen. Killed plenty of goblins wolf's monsters, and it just seemed like the Witcher 3, a batman game, or an earlier god of war to me and I am being 100% serious. The ai mobs pose really no challenge whatsoever I've played nioh, sekiro, monster hunter games, and this shit seems so basic and primitive compare to those games combat systems. When people praise the gameplay of dd, have they like (and i am being nice here) never played nioh 2, woo long, elden ring, Bayonetta, or dmc games??Those games have loads of depth to their combat, are challenging and much more complex.Ill ask once again, please explain the appeal of this series to me, maybe im just a low iq midwit but I genuinely dont get it, it just seems so basic.
Game just feels good to play.
>>731114837its fun :)
It's not a character action combo sandbag game, that's your mistake. It's an action RPG, it's the RPG part people like.
>>731114837Your not missing out on anything, this game has the skeleton of a masterpiece but that's it
>>731114837I have 1200+Hrs in DDDA and I have 3000+Hrs in Nioh2.Like other anon said, its not deep action game, its action-rpg game. And its very good balance btw action and rpg.Feel pretty good to control your char and party and do flashy combat with generic old-good fantasy enemies. Feel pretty good to run around talk to npc, find new lore, loots all shit in their home. Feel pretty good to find new cool gears. etc.. etc... somethings like that.
Wolves hunt in packs.
>>731114837People pretend to like this game as a joke
Fans REALLY overrate the combat. They're only used to jrpg combat, so being able to move and have actual inputs blew their minds.
>>731114837it's a game for people that grew up reading books for leisure. It's not a high iq experience, but it's a game that rewards deferred gratification rather nicely.
discord trannies are so easy to spot
>>731114837>10/10By who retard?Are you a faggot?
The 2nd game sucks so hard compared to the 1st one. I dunno wtf they were thinking. It feel shit to play and the story is worse and the music is worse and the quests are worse. Everything sucks.
>>731117413>being able to move and have actual inputs blew their mindsTBF control in old capcom engine felt pretty great tho. The impact, hit-stop, trun around, parry, everything feel good. Now compare to new engine.. everything feel suck..
>>731114837It's D&D for weebs, they praise it because nippon made it
The first game was an open world ARPG in an era where those didn't really exist, with some fun features thrown on top.You had to play it contemporarily. If you play it today, especially after coming from games like Elden Ring, BG3, BotW, etc, then you won't be able to enjoy or appreciate it, and you simply missed out. Only solution is to rewind the clock. Sorry.
>>731114837>did they play soulslopWell if that's you enjoy that explains it
I've never heard anyone call it a 10/10 and in fact calling it a really good 7/10.
>>731114837Where did you get the idea that complex depth is good? "Basic" depth is fine too, better even.
>>731118171>You had to play it contemporarily. It's a game that rewards you the more you engage with it. The mechanics are all simple but each one can be exploited amd interacted with in fun ways. For instance climbing on a cyclops' head to obscure its view to then have your pawn knock it off balance sending you both careening down the cliffside to your deaths. Good times
>>731118970Boomer here. It's depressing, but it's also the truth. There's a lot of stuff from the past where you simply had to be there to experience it correctly, and you'll never get to again if you missed it. Believe me, I don't want it to be this way, I'd do anything to get to go back. But you can't. You missed out. I'm sorry.
>>731120180all three of those games play worse
>>731114837>the Witcher 3, a batman game, or an earlier god of war to me and I am being 100% serious.Yeah, this is bait.
>>731120272It's not about that. It's about being in the right place at the right time, along with the context that comes with it. Experiences in life, video games included, are more than just the experience itself.Playing Dragon's Dogma today is objectively a different experience than playing it in 2012. You cannot experience the latter any more. If you didn't do it back then, you simply missed out and there's no way to undo that.
>>731117413Nah, the game has genuine good combat. Especially for an open world fantasy RPG.
>>731114837>hasn't interacted with 90% of the game>tries to have an opinion about it/v/ moment.
>>731114837>I put about 10 hours into dark arisen. Killed plenty of goblins wolf's monstersDid you even make it to Gran Soren? Let one Bitter Black Isle? You are still stomping goombas and you think you have an opinion on this game already?
>>731114837>nioh 2, woo long, elden ring>have loads of depth to their combatBait.
