So he built up his forces doing merc work and then went against the patriots? How did he get a submarine modeled off of Metal Gear Arsenel? Doesn't Oceleot's sub have the Patriots AI inside of it or was that another ship?This game is confusing and also very stupid. At least MG1-2, and MGS, tried to keep it comic book and spy-ish but still a fun contained storyline. It became a mess for 2 and especially 4. 4 is outright elements of self-parody which 2 started. I think moments like this were done with full knowledge by Kojima how stupid it is.

Snake respects Big Boss as a soldier but he absolutely does not want to be associated with the man's legacy. He says himself he refused to use CQC for decades because it was Big Boss' thing and he's only using it because everyone knows how to do it now.
