What is your experience with these games? I loved Philosopher's Stone on PS1 and Chamber of Secrets on Gamecube. I also own Order of the Phoenix and Deathly Hallows part 1 and 2 on 360, but I never played those. Wbu?
i didn't play them and now I have 10 fingers.
>>731135207>Chamber of SecretsI had this on PC. It's been a terribly long time so I don't remember exactly where in the game it was, but I'm pretty fucking sure I softlocked myself somehow, so I never finished it.
>>731135207idk dude i read sci fi as a kid
>>731135371I should look around for a freeware copy. These games were pretty different depending on their platform. Never played it on pc.
>>731135207I played them all as a kid, Philosopher's Stone PS1, 2-5 on PS2, and HBP+Deathly Hallows on WiiI highly recommend Prisoner of Azkaban on PS2/GameCube, it's Chamber of Secrets PS2/GC gameplay with the movie aesthetic and much thicker atmosphere and darker tone. Pretty cool. Also packed with lots of content and gameplay generally improved from Chamber. It also lets you switch between Harry/Ron/Hermione and they each have their own abilities The dementors were scary as FUCK as a kid https://youtu.be/Eql1YWXTjFo?t=10696
>>731135667Definitely emulating Azkaban then. Any major differences between ps2 and gamecube? Can get roms of both.
>>731135667I still feel robbed that the PC version of PoA doesn't let you switch characters.
>>731135791I am of the opinion that the PC versions of the first three games are all shit, console versions were way better
>>731135207I played some of Sorcerers stone on Xbox but I got stuck and quit.
>>731135757cant say for certain but quick google searches and youtube comparisons suggest that ps2/gc/xbox versions are all identical except that gc and xbox were higher res than ps2 and might have had more sophisticated lighting effects
>>731135940I'll stick with gamecube then since I have Chambers on Dolphin. Thanks.
>>731135207they're soul.
>>731135207All I remember is being able to make slytherin lose house points if you get caught during the polyjuice potion part in Chamber of Secrets. Shit was cash.
>>731136345Never knew about this. That's great.
>>731135207I have the GBA version of Philosopher's Stone thinking it was the RPG, but it was the GBC version I was looking for. Unfortunate.
I played 1 and 2 on PC as a kid and they were really comfy. Look how crisp it is.
>>731136623pc master race
>>731136623>>731136760hell yeah brother
>>731135207I loved the PS1 versions of 1 and 2. I never finished 4 on PS2, and I didn't play the fifth one for more than a couple of minutes.
>>731135207Loved 1-3 on PC, currently replaying CoS (I'll bump with some pics in a sec). Haven't played any of the console versions
>>731135207I tried playing the Xbox version a few years back but it's clearly a children's game with not much going for it besides the fact it's Harry Potter themed. I remember playing the first two games on GBA as a kid but I doubt they've held up well either.
Forgot you could buy shit in 2
>>731135667'oi 'arry this weed'io is quoite smashin'
>>731135207The only one i actually played was prisoner of azkaban for PC. Phylosopher Stone and Chamber on PS1 and Stone on gba never finished.
>>731135207I had the Philosopher's Stone on GBC, pretty crazy JRPG punching way above its weight for a movie tie in game and had cool collectibles to 100%. Never played the console games are they worth it for the "nostalgia" aspect?
The virgin Harry Potter wizards:>hide away from the non-magical folk to avoid being genocided>avoid using their magic on non-magical folk>hide their school in the middle of the cold and damp ass highlands>wave little twigs around>couldn't stand up to one dark lord and two dozen cronies>only eat big dinners at school>rise the ranks by reading books, passing tests and making new discoveries like a bunch of nerds>most powerful wizard got his title by cheating with the Elder Hax Wand>afraid of deathThe Chad Discworld wizards: >live among non-magical folk, openly display their magical status>use their magic on anyone who fucks with them, give zero fucks>put their school smack bang in the middle of their world's biggest city>use solid oak six foot staffs with knobs on the end>can stand up to dragons, elves, Things from the Dungeon Dimensions and even the Auditors of all reality>eat big dinners their whole lives>rise the ranks by 86ing their superiors>most powerful wizard fucking earned his title by being too robust and sharp to kill>summon death to ask him trivial questions
>>731140630That was more of a book tie in really
I liked 4
>>731136623It really is quite crisp.
>>731139384Wow, this is really nice. It was scenes like these in vidya that made me so hopeful for the future of videogames. Too bad modern vidya sucks ass and normalfag slop is the best we can do.
>>731140630I think for purely nostalgia you should try 2 on gbc and 3 on gba, they're the direct sequels to that one.The console ones are not great but not terrible, I had fun exploring. With nostalgia they'll probably be good.
Riding the broomstick around hogwarts in 2 was the hottest shit, so fucking fun. Goblet was atrocious.
>>731141717Very comfy.
>>731142134Oh man I really should play this one. I remember trying to install it in the 2000s but it required those fucking "vertex shaders" that my ancient office PC lacked (t. Europoor), so I gave up. Is it as fun as the first one?
>>731142837Dunno. Never played them on PC. I know they're a bit different.
Every single one of them was a 10/10 masterpiece comfy kino until the one where they unironically made a gears of war ripoff and you hide behind chest high walls and blind fire with your wand like Marcus and the bros do.I had no idea what the fuck was going on so i dropped it. Dear Lord.
Philosopher's stone for the GBC. It was decent enough but I'm pretty sure that my cart was bugged or some shit because I couldn't get the goddamn boomslang skin so it was impossible to finish.I did find most of the hidden rooms and shortcuts though by being an autistic child and hugging every wall in the castle and spamming A.
