>>731142249Really not true at all. When you hit an enemy it feels like you're using a pool noodle. The animations and art objectively less soulful. There are cutscenes fucking EVERYWHERE constantly interrupting the flow so you can hear emil whine about something. There is no reason for emil and marta to like eachother other than the fact the game is written that way, they have zero chemistry. The pet system is essentially useless when the bosses are easy as shit even on the highest difficulty. Almost every dungeon is just recycled from the first game but worse and the new dungeons are linear snorefests the series became famous for after Abyss.

Marta keeps making bad life decisions, Emil keeps defending her. It's infurating. Two of the most unlikeable characters as the main cast. In fact, they are the only long term party members. Even though all of the cast from ToS1 is in here, 'they get done dirty' isn't even the correct way to describe it and you don't actually keep them for long enough. Your end party is always going to be: Emil, Marta, and two generic monsters you trained. Yes there is monster training, but they are just generic facilimilies of the wolf monster, plant monster, and beast monster, etc. You go through the same generic dungeons to grind out random items for the endgame. Do you really need to? Yes, because for some stupid reason Unison Attacks do not cancel enemy attacks. In ToS1 you could cancel an enemy Unison with your own Unison but since you can't in this game, the second to last boss is going to drive you mad unless you do enough padding first. And these dungeons are not level synced. Apparently there are sidequests? I don't quite remember, I only beat it once and never played it again because there is no meaningful content.

I tried several times in the final battle against Alice and Decus to cancel their super overpowered mystic arte or whatever their cut-in attack is, never worked, never stopped them. I finally just got lucky and killed them with enough trial and error.

Its only upsides are seeing "level 4" spells (elemental spells stronger than stuff like Explosion and Tidal Wave) and Emil being the best aerial fighter I can remember since Destiny DC until we get to the Xillia games.
