What Vpet did you have growing up and what is the best objectively in modern day
>>
>>731142913
Had a Tamagotchi v2 and a digimon
Currently digimon godzilla is the best one

>20th anniversary of Digimon releases a definitive edition of the original vpet with a ton of added features and every roster consolidated into one device
>A few years later they release premium color editions of the original vpet
>70-80 dollars each and come with none of the 20th anniversary features, and re-seperates the rosters into 4 different devices

I'm so fucking mad that they would be so greedy as to intentionally nerf their product like this.
>>
I had both Pocket Pikachu, gen 1 Tamagotchi, and at least one knock off.
Best today is hard to say, you have a lot of choices.
>>
>>731142913
I want the Monster Hunter ones
>>
>>731143201
If I wanted to be a party pooper I'd point out that the Godzilla edition is probably the least interesting of the modern releases since most of it's sprites are just reused from the original v4

I WANT ANNIVERSARY EDITIONS OF THE ACCEL
>>
>>731143243
They still haven't actually made a V-pet with more content and features than the Pendulum ver. 20, eight years ago.
Hell they keep getting smaller. The Godzilla ones have the equivalent of like one egg group.
>>
>>731143636
It's really fucking aggravating.

Either sell a cheaply made version on Amazon with basic features and rosters like they do for Tamagotchi, or make it a premium experience and sell it on the bandai site for a high price. They want to have their cake and eat it too but it just makes me not want to give them money at all.

Im talking about mechanics more

>>731143636
The 20th have easy mode evo requirements compared to the originals and the colors
>>
>>731142913
The original 1997 US release.

Currently still using my original and got a bunch of different X and 20th units. Wish the colors and pendulums were just as cheap. Also wish i had gotten all the cool shit Bandai released in the 2000s that i was never aware of.

I can't speak for Digimon fans since I know a big appeal for them is strength and battling, but "little pocket friend simulator" doesn't get better than the Tama Connection rerelease
>>
>>731143636
>>731143879
They can't even be fucked to make them widely available.

Id probably drop 60 dollars on a pendulum 20th but fuck giving an eBay reseller 150

Today if you want a Digimon Vpet, get a 20th and/or a Digimon X
They're objectively the best, they're cheap and have a ton of content and Digimon in them
I love vpets, I have a lot of different ones, my favorites are the Dragon Quest slime ones, which have an integrated pedometer, so the vpet is about you walking around a map by selecting a direction and walking in real life and evolving your slime in different ones to allow you to travel throught specific terrains, those are expensive and rare tho (except the first one, but it's kinda basic and not that fun)
>>

It angers me to no end that the closest thing we have for Digimon with all the modern shit Tamagotchi gets, are the fit-bit things.
>>
>>731144940
That's funny to me because as a tamagotchi fan, id give my left nut for a tama release on par with digimon v20 or the new color editions.

It's nice that we get new modem tamas every couple years, but they are rarely worthwhile for real vpet shooters and are treated more like effortless toys to play games on
>>
Bandai Namco are pussies.

If I was in charge of the brand, id do a limited novelty Tamagotchi x Digimon release where the rosters are swapped. Flight tamas on a digivice and raise digimon on a tama shell
>>
>>731144010
Copymon made jogress a dream too.
>>
>>731144707
I have the original, didn't know they made more. Thanks anon!
>>
>>731143243
Still the best device I got. My friend got it for me on preorder back then trying to get me back into digimon and well it didnt work but I love the thing.
>>
>>731142913
I have a couple 20th and Xs, but I really want the pendulum colors. I was also considering the new tama paradise thing because I like the theming
>>
>>731145916
If you want to find them
If you have the first one, is the "Arukun V1"
The version 2 is the "Arukun V2"
The last one is the "Arukun returns"
The last 2 got the same map, and similar monsters, except the returns has QoL stuff like alerts and saves (You can change the batteries without reseting everything)
>>
>>731144707
I have a green one of these but I don't remember how I got it. Which version is that?
>>
>>731142913
I had the digitamer devices from season 1, 2, and 3
I wish i knew what happened to them because theyve been missing for like 20 years

If you have this map it's a V1
if not it's either a V2 or a returns, but you'll have to check the shells online to know which one it is
The V2 is hard to find, the returns is even harder, so if it's not that it's likely a V2
>>
>>731147186
Fucking loved this thing
>>
>>731145140
I really just want something with a full color screen with animations. Dont get me wrong, the pixel art is iconic as hell, but god damn i want something new that makes them look closer to their official art.(which they have done for some devices in the past)

Some of the more gimmicky features of the old Digimon devices and modern Tamas would also be neat to do stuff with, like a upc scanner or wireless communication. Fuck, how about a new one that interacts with a modern game like we got on the ps1 and wonderswan?

I got emotional damage from the Pendulum 20th essentially making your Digimon immortal if you took good care of them so I had to keep intentionally treating them poorly to get them to die and explore other evolution paths... Which there were a lot of.
>>
>>731150285
Nice job dumbass

To answer your question though, I don't know if I have an ideal virtual pet "game" since having to boot an application up to see my vpet defeats the fun, which imo, is always having a little buddy going through the day with you whether you want them to or not.
The appeal of something like digimon world is completely lost on me

Just had a couple of knock off tamagochi.
>>
I had the blue original one as a child and recently got a black and red X antibody v-pet on a whim but didn't look into it to see if that was a good or bad pick.
