It really needed to hone in on the stealth elements more. Past a certain point you get good enough at the combat and its just an action game.I also feel like the game does a very bad job prompting you to experiment with sword arts and prosthetics, I had no idea that many of them dumpster certain enemies or bosses until I read about them online. I think this is largely due to the hard limit on text space in the menu descriptions, which also fucked up the translation of some plot relevant item descriptions.That said still a great game. Favorite boss is the polearm monk woman in Mibu and on the Fountainhead Bridge.

The spirit emblem system sucks, it feels like shinobi prosthetics were originally meant to play a way bigger role in the combat, but somewhere during development they decided to make them way less important

Sekiro caused me to play through the entire Souls series, because even when I knew how parrying worked, I was bad at it. It's not optimal for a game to require you to play other games before it.I haven't even played Sekiro yet. I am still at Dark Souls 3 and I barely do any parrying in these games, before I prefer using a high damage Greatsword.

The player's posture not breaking when the posture bar is filled if you keep deflecting. Itd be a lot more interesting if good gameplay meant you had to learn when to back off to recover your posture instead of just learning all the parry timings and not caring about your posture bar at all
