Expedition 33 used AI. Call of Duty and Battlefield used AI. What's stopping any random shmuck from being a dev nowadays and just AI to generate code to make a game? Can Steam detect a fraud programmer?
>>
>>731149662
the browser youre using was coded with ai
>>
The fact that AI is shit and starts tripping over when if needs to pay more than 10 seconds of attention to a task without heavy tardwrangling and handholding.
>>

>hmmmmm it tastes fantastic hmmmm mmmm
>incredible
>>
>>731149662
>some random placeholder texture was AI generated
>therefore you can ask chatgpt "make me a good video game" and it'll work
What exactly is your logic here?
>>
Shit just go ahead and do it if it's so easy.
>>
>>731149662
E33 didn't use AI to code. They used it as placeholder assets.
>>
>>731149662
People are already using AI plenty to assist with coding. It's built into most IDEs at this point. However AI cannot actually put together an entire game by itself, at the bare minimum you need some retard to put the bits and pieces together to make an actually functional game, and you have to hope that the AI wasn't trained on some retarded spaghetti shit that makes that step difficult.
>>731149845
Basically, this.
>>
>>731149662
dont blame your poor life choices on technology. what job will you lose to AI?
>>

>What's stopping any random shmuck from being a dev nowadays and just AI to generate code to make a game? Can Steam detect a fraud programmer?
pure elitism. cope and seethe while the commoners use technology to elevate themselves

>What's stopping any random shmuck from being a dev nowadays and just AI to generate code to make a game?
idk why don't you try it
why are the biggest proponents of AI always the biggest n00bs and imbeciles
>>
Expedition 33 only used AI in shit that wasn't public facing and wasn't in the final game and still got disqualified from awards for it.
People were already going to play COD, people will complain about the AI garbage but ultimately some AI-generated poster in Nuketown isn't stopping COD from still going toe-to-toe with Fortnite as far as player numbers go.

AI slop goblins aren't going to get the prestige or validation they so desperately want.
>>
>now ANYONE can make a bad newgrounds-tier flash game that barely works with even a single gameplay mechanic
>and then you can play it with cloud gaming because nobody can afford PCs anymore!
Whoa heckin' awesome!
>>
>>731149662
Even if you got an AI-generated game onto Steam you'd be unable to market it to the xitter faggot audience which is easily two thirds of the indie market, if not more. Look at the meltdown that happened when E33 used AI for placeholder assets the public was never going to see and when Larian said they'd allow their concept artists to use AI image generation for references instead of googling something. Even those things caused those audiences to act like they're the worst developers to walk the Earth, and they weren't even really the market for those studios' games. An indie game made by AI is basically dead in the water, and would only be bought and praised by contrarians doing it to piss xitterfags off.

There is the thing. If it is stuff behind the scenes like code and animation (even placeholder stuff that would be replaced with the actual art and such), then I don't give a shit about this.
I would give a shit if it were content like art and similar stuff.
Even Steam updated their AI policy where the devs don't need to list stuff like coding, animation and placeholder stuff in the description of usage of AI in game development (only the content you see like the in-game art, character models and more will be mentioned in the description).
So sorry dude, but if this is bait then it's a weak one.

>>731149662
AI code turns into a patchwork of schizo garbage after a couple iterations or if it's more than 100-200 lines
>>
>>731150162
>E33 didn't use AI to code.
true. The whole game uses blueprints designed by AI
>>
>>731150162

Worse than AI

>Can Steam detect a fraud programmer?
Obviously not since Ubisoft released games on there for over a decade.
>>
>>731149662
>used ai
Not really.

I used AI to spellcheck this post.
>>
>>731155045
>even steam
They updated it because there is absolutely no way of telling if you did, you retard.
>>
>>731155926
Yes, yes. More insults and no texture and substance.
>>
>>731155290
With a new studio on a budget. What do you expect? Not everyone has the spare time to be Team Cherry and spend a decade or more to make a indie game.
>>
It’s usually GenAI images, music, writing, or voice work that consumers have a problem with. They’re also piss-easy to detect and need to be disclosed on the Steamworks survey.
Nobody cares when you use AI tools to code. The consumer doesn’t see it, and if it works, it works.
You probably won't be able to vibecode a decent games with zero experience.
>>
>>731149662
The $100 to get in.
>>
There's literally nothing wrong with AI, get with the times, gramps.
