If you still care, download protontricks and launch via proton and not wine. I'd recommend downloading heroic launcher as it makes this easier.

I just downloaded the installer and ran it through Faugus Launcher and then selected hitman2.exe as the default executable. That's it, it just works. No niggers in my game and the frame rate is fine.
