In DS fraampt and kaathe talk to you often and tell you conflicting information, and it’s on the onus of the player to explore the world and decide for themselves which side, despite their lying, is in the player, or the worlds best interest. In ER the fingers serve the same purpose except you get a direct line of dialogue twice from them in the entire game that says nothing but keep getting runes, then more fluff at the end of the DLC announcing that they’re crazy and stupid regardless so actually nothing they’ve said matters.

I'm replaying ER as Marika, so I'm only using weapons that have faith stat requirement or natural faith scaling. I also decided that before she fights ANY boss she has to visit every single church on the map. It's surprising how easy it actually is to get to mountains and snowfield early.I'm also trying out some mods, so in my opinion, ER's biggest issue is how game doesn't have dynamic shadows like in DS2. Mod that simply makes more things cast shadows makes game significantly prettier, even when considering how said shadows can sometimes flicker or break because obviously game was not made with this in mind.
