https://store.steampowered.com/app/1149490/Bokube/orhttps://bokudev.itch.io/bokubeBokube demo ver: 016 is now on steam and itch with massive art changes and gameplay changes:
>>731487059My man, go update your Steam page right this instance. Those blurry screenshots aren't going to sell your game. It looks more like Super Mario 3D World than Super Mario 64; the low resolution doesn't add atmosphere, it just makes it look worse
captain toad but cube
Call me when 1.0 pops out
>>731488414anon i...
>>731488502I'm not playing a version that starts with 0, bucko
You act like we know what this is.
>>731487059Mogged by Order of the Sinking Star.
>>731487059ganbare, bokube dev
>>731488793It's an Anon's project like bug fables. I recognize it from game dev threads.
who the hell makes versions for a demo? just release the damn game or call the demo 'chapter 1' or some shit.
>>731487059nice. I was hoping order of the sinking star would revive the sokoban genre
>>731487386K done. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1149490/Bokube/Should have the new screenshots now.
>>731487509Its more like kirby and captain toad than just captain toad I guess.
>>731488793You should newfag its been here on both /v/ and /agdg/ for like 10 years
>>731488842>>731491519>john blow makes a $1,000,000+ in budget sokoban>4chan dev spent less than $6,000 on his more fun focused sokoban game. kek blow needs to try the demo
>>731491182I think we call that "Early Access".
In your tutorial you use "encase you die" instead of in case you die.
>>731491817blow and fred would get along well.
>>731491817>$1,000,000he's spent over 27 million dollars
>>731492023>27 M FOR THIS Bokube unironically looks better than this just thinking that it took 27 million dollars sounds like a sick joke
>>731488414just rike 2 more months.
Ok you win, that was fun and you get a wishlist out of me
>>731491649Hasn't updated yet, but I guess that's on Steam's side
Why are the screenshots on steam so blurry?
>>731492131The money didn't go to the game, but to the language he created for it. Now, is it worth investing 20 million dollars into a new programming language? I guess time will tell
>>731492184I believe it. screenshotting this.
>>731492415>>731492445should be there now I see it;
is this unreal engine?
>>731492512for what purpose? boku has stated an anticipated release soon like five times a year so probably around fifty times altogether
>>731492526Much better, but the image quality is still pretty shit. There's some compression or artifacting going on, which can be seen clearly on this pic. Do you have some sort of grain filter on the game?
>>731492560No UNITY but I did study mockups of what the game would look like if it was made in unreal so I could try my hardest by hand to make it look less unity-like. For comparison the left image is the 2024 art from 2 years ago beta development of the games content. The right is a recent art makeover iv been doing to improve detail and colors hopefully giving the game more soul
>>731492641I use gyazo to screenshot my work maybe gyazo is just shit and I should try a different method of taking screenshots. I used to have a dithering filter over the games camera but I removed that awhile ago shouldn't look grainy..
>>731492824why can't you just use the print screen button on your keyboard
>>731492562to be part of history
>>731492946ah
Fucking sick. Watched the trailer with low expectations but wishlist it by the end. I'm rooting for you anon. Any idea how much it will cost?
>>731493216he's said $9.99 for a while now in agdg
looks good and cool
>>731493216Im low balling for $4.99 probably.
>>731493516$4.99 at 126 reviews after a year. sounds like a great idea boku
>>731487059Looks cool anon I will play it and buy it for my gf who loves rabbits and cabbits. Have you considered perhaps adding a cabbit somewhere in the game?
>>731492131KEK! At $27m I stick in the stock market for average 10% yearly gain. I believe this game has been in development for nearly 10 years. So 10 years, but no compounding would double my portfolio networth. Much better investment than this game. Only way this game was the better choice is if it makes $54,000,001 in profit and can get it taxed like long term capital gains.
>>731493830but kek your'e an incel
>>731492824Steam takes screenshots, if nothing else. Just boot the demo through the client and hit F12
>>731495164thats a good idea thanks il try this soon
>>731495246Just make sure you get PNGs. I think that's the default setting, but I don't remember now. Haven't had to change any setting for years. At some point you could get JPG screenshots, as I remember it, and they always looked bad. Check the settings if necessary
>>731493830I think its gonna sell worse than the remaster of braid desu
>>731493765Yeah hopefully if I update the game based on positive steam review feedback forever after release with endless good updates to t1,000,000 copies will eventually get sold over a long period of time.
>>731492495how does making a fake language equal out to 20+ million? Is it just paying 20 professional programmers 1M a year? for 10 years?
>>731496231>fake
>>731487509I'm down for more Toadlikes!
>>731488842Blow it out your ass
>>731496231>Is it just paying 20 professional programmers 1M a year? for 10 years?yes. he said his burn rate (for the game and language/engine) was 1-4 million.
Played the demo. Let me turn off the ugly sharpening filter, and please add some anti-aliasing options, because whatever you're using now looks like ass.
>>731492131>Bokube unironically looks betterWrong.
>>731497936I think it's TAA. since it's unity 2018, he should let us use MSAA. or even FXAA would look better that this sharpened TAA.
I would, but I can't
>>731492743My first thought when I saw the screenshots in this thread: it looks great compared to what you were posting in /agdg/ not too long ago.
bump for my aggydaggy bros
>>731487059alright mr dev Ill try yo shit. I like the aesthethic
OP what the fuck happened here
Looks soulful, anon, I'll play it when it releases.
