The MCs are both godlike in personality, voice acting, and in their personal arc.To set expectations, the non-battle stuff - the story, dialogue, etc. - is done via visual novel. No choices, just reading. I actually got into it *because* it was a fantasy VN, which are unusually rare and I'm a SFF book reader.Unlike many VNs it's not just bog-standard anime tropes and extremely thin character writing. It stands toe to toe with actual SFF authors. But if you really hate VNs this is a dealbreaker for sure.

This is an obscure one but theres a series of modules for neverwinter nights called the prophet series.The story is really good and emotional and is all about fate and all that shit. You're a prophet who sees visions of the future and set off on a quest to prevent these things from happening. you end up being the cause of these terrible things happening inadvertently and things get worse and worse until you fuck up so hard you end the world there's more too it than that and I'm explaining it badly but its a really emotional and thought provoking journey. Was one of the best rpg experiences I've had and its fanmade.
