Undertale Yellow has a certain je ne sais quoi for making you feel cool while embarking on a relentless killing spree. How does one accomplish something similar in any sort of fangame? Is it music like "Enemy Retreating"? Is it visual aesthetics? Or is it how other characters respond to your actions?

Some people even avoid calling it the genocide route because clover actively lets monsters go, so you feel like this has a "purpose" instead of shits and giggles. The original undertale genocide for instance isnt about moral justification, its doing it because you can. Up until later in the jaundice run, yellow gives you npcs that clover doesnt attack, fights that end without killing, and plays at the self defense angle a bit more. It waits until starlo to make you ask "ok was this justified?" And then again until axis when you as a player are probably fully invested to have you execute someone begging for their life.

Have a bunch of annoying, but strong enemies who you have to work really hard to make friends with in pacifist, but in genocide you get to see their reactions as you give them what they deserve. The genocide would play out sort of like those scenes in Falling Down where D-fens starts getting harassed or held up by some asshole, the movie goes out of its way to make you dislike the guy, and makes sure to paint him as being the aggressor and completely in the wrong, then D-fens shoots them or blindsides them with a bat, all the while berating them on how terrible they are. You could also have scenes where the main character just intimidates his way through what would otherwise be a drawn out gag section where characters put him through a major hassle for a simple task.Then I'd also have the game respond your killing spree by sending in stronger threats, so you still have a challenge while playing. A bit like how in GTA once you kill a few cops they recognize how dangerous you and start sending SWAT teams. So you kill a few enough common monsters, and they start sending the real heavy hitters after you. And it just keeps escalating, until eventually you have the monsters throwing everything they've got at you in a desperate bid to stop you, and all it manages to do is slow you down.

Like in the original UT, you have to spend a pretty significant amount of time in each area grinding in order to actually fulfill the kill requirement for the true genocide route, so if what Frisk was doing wasn't self defense, Clover's not excused either.Plus, the original UT plays around with the idea of justification way more, with encounters like Papyrus where you have to actively kill someone who refuses to fight you and insists that you can still be a better person, or with Sans, who actively talks about why you do the things you're doing.The most UTY ever really does with the idea of justification in the genocide route is when Zenith Martlet says "We only took five" during her fight, the general implication that Clover's doing all this as vengeance for the previous fallen humans, but it's much less present throughout UTY's genocide route as the UT's themes are in it's genocide route.

Did we get to see the inside of martlets house in yellow, or is what dry came up with all we have? I remember at one point the door was locked and martlet doesn't react to it being her house. I'm just going to go with the dry example without clover already having a room if we don't have an official "martlet house". Jannies being weird just means i need to go work on writing.
