Days gone is nothing like state of decay, thank fuck. It's actually fun, there's no corporate art citizens you have to fucking micromanage, and the gunplay actually feels good, especially against hordes (Which state of decay doesn't have)also, pssst, anything published by fucking microsoft is AAA.

I hate how shooters have turned into moviegames. The point of a shooter is that you're playing the game not watching it. It's about twitch reflexes and fun. Plop me in a dungeon, give me a gun, play some badass music and let me kill stuff. I don't need cutscenes, dialogue or "narrative" in a shooter

The latter half of the game is a fucking slog, I dropped it multiple times for like a year because it becomes so tedious and boring after a certain point.It's like they didn't know how to end it so they just threw in like 4 'go over here and kill a bunch of zombies for no real reason' missions just to pad the time on a fucking already 20 hour game.

They had this same problem leading up to the second game before they got bought out. They couldn't decide whether to make a story based narrative or placate the Breakdown autists with a 1000+ hours. They tried making both sides content with their loop designed around speed running maps to get generic endings with a side of eugenics. Their original concept in the form of a zombie MMORPG is about 20 years out of date at this point and no one even remembers the name Class 4. They might be dead long before they finally nail down an idea worth pursuing.
