Why wasn't Tsukihime as popular as Fate?

The Deen anime introduced Fate to a lot of people overseas whereas the Tsuki anime sucked.
As for the VNs well Fate was newer and had more budget and experience poured in it.

The concept of Fate is a lot more appealing, it basically opens the door to infinite possible characters that people are already familiar with showing up, which is probably why FGO was such a massive success, Nasu accidentally made a system that would fit into how a gacha works perfectly

Tsukihime was pretty huge, it was babby's first VN for many, many people.
The question is how Fate blew up beyond all reason, I personally will never understand it. Especially because unlike Tsukihime it's fucking shit.

Because Shiki was too much of a CHAD for Japanese to handle.
>Has Mystic Eyes of Death Perception meaning he can kill even things that can't be killed
>Fucked and raped all the girls, so it's pointless to even name them
>A cat is fine too

It was basically Hellsing with less sauce. Shiki was a pretty cringe edgelord MC and would eventually get completely outdone in every category by Ryougi

>no Seibah
>no Girugamesh
>no Kirei
