They still do, there's plenty of those on itchio. The problem is it's too much of a mixed bag with random garbage like fetish games or visual novels so it's hard to find something worthwhile.
I played a browser MMO called Lands of Lords that was pretty fun. It's still around as well if anyone wants to give it a go

They do, YOU simply do not play them. Newgrounds still gets new games usually 2-3 times a week (they get more but I'm talking about games that aren't slop).the main issue is most engines that people could use for easy games are dead. you have like, pico8, and that's it for someone new to start with.
