I just wish my modded game wouldn't crash so often. It's not so often as to be unplayable but still annoying at times and always completely random.
No game since offers the sanboxy, simulated "living world" feel in the way that skyrim does, and of course mods expand on that.Even recent games like KCD2 that could considered a "tes-like", while it has some superior player-to-world interactions such as it's pickpocketing/theft & crime system, it has very little in terms of world-to-world interaction, just like in other lackluster open worlds like Cyberpunk.It's an aspect that very few games do, and skyrim just happens to be one of the ones that does it.

Just the right mix of normalfaggotry, open-ended gameplay and fun.It's not particularly deep, but you can still get lost just fucking around in the game world for tens of hours at a time, more if you're committed to some roleplay.
I'd bother reinstalling Skyrim but then I know that I'd inevitably end up playing it as a sandbox and it would get old real fast

It's a game where you can create an entire second life and hero's journey for a character you sculpt yourself starting in character creator and developed over dozens of hours from playstyle to world reaction to friendships and personal gear in roleplay. It's a game where the player freedom and mind games regarding your character and your story goes as deep as you want it to. Quite literally no one else in the entire fucking industry is trying to make this level of freedom/simulation based sandbox RPGs, and for the last 15 years even Bethesda themselves have seemingly forgotten about how to make a good game. It's ogre, and there's a reason why Skyrim will still be played a decade from now be it in its vanilla form, modded, Beyond Skyrim, Skyblivion, Skywind or whatever else comes even after TES 6 is out.Unironic lightning in a bottle.

The base game isn't fun to me anymore and hasn't been for a long time, but as a survival camping journey sim with some base food/water/sleep and cold/wet mods, it's really comfy.I did actually play it on PSVR (without mods since Skyrim VR on console has no mods, not even the paid mod shit) and surprisingly that revitalized the base gameplay for me. Switched off the quest markers and solely explored from memory + in-game signing and it was REALLY cool.If I ever get a PC VR headset, I assume it's possible to have basic survival mods + VR? If so then I'd maybe play it again
