Even if it focuses more on simulation and is harder to get into than the base game.Even base Simutrans is weird in that it uses paksets which fundamentally change the entire game. The art, the rules, the vehicles at your disposal. Each pak is almost its own game in that regard. I'd say the pak128 ones are the "intended" ones. They seem to have split into more than before though. Last I played the base game I only remember a generic pak128. Skimming the reviews it seems to be mostly that it's obtuse or hard. I can agree with that to some extent. However I do quite like how a lot of things work in it. Such as the line creation tool with the exception of maybe mass replacing vehicles.I loved the original TTD as well. Then was quickly won over by Simutrans when I found it who knows how long ago.
