It's very early access, but atleast the modding compatibility is very very good, and altho there's some neat mods out even those need time to develop into something worth dedicating a playthrough for.
if your wanting to play it for the main game, wait a year at bare minimum
If you're wanting is exclusively for modded content wait like 6 months at bare minimum.

Yeah i got caught up in the hype and bought it.

Immediately got overgrowth vibes.
Competent engine and moddability coupled with 0 structure or campaign.
Tine will tell if i got scammed or just jumped on too soon. It isnt the worst game i bought on impulse.
