Whenever I first start a new game, a new experience in general. There is a light anxiety I feel, where you don't know what's going to happen. Will I be stuck at a certain part? Where do I go? What's gonna happen next? These controls are unique.

Learning the game and it's rules in it of itself is apart of the game, but for me it can distract or detract from me enjoying the game in some ways. The same things that make new experiences fun is also what makes it hard to push through sometimes.

So when I finally finish a game, one I like or really like. Then eventually replay it, all those feelings of confusion and anxiety go away. And I feel that I can apprieciate the game far more since the distractions are gone and it's not longer "new and scary". Early levels are easier, you know where to go... you KNOW WHERE TO GO. Is a big one for me since first playthroughs I get stuck a lot, so it makes the pacing actually improve.

This could apply to any game really, even visual novels where the uncertainty of the plot is no longer obscured on a first playthrough.

What are you thoughts on this? Do you share the same opinion or find it strange how I'm rambling about something that you don't relate to?
